Bonfire Night

The Scouts of St. Peter's Church will be having a 'Fireworks Spectacular Bonfire Party' on Saturday 5th November at The Paddock Cricket Path from 6 p.m.

1st Formby Scout Group will also be having a 'Fireworks Party' on Saturday 5th November at Holy Trinity Primary School, Lonsdale Road. Gates open at 6.30 p.m. for a 7 p.m. start.

Year 3 - Out and About

Year 3 children visit Formby High on Monday 17th October as part of their topic 'The Lion King.'

Children will walk to Formby High School at the start of the school day and will return to school in time for lunch. Please ensure your child wears school uniform with a warm and waterproof jacket.

We are sure they will have a wonderful time!

Macmillan Coffee Morning

The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support's biggest fundraising event.

Our Coffee Morning will be held in the Nurture Suite (Start Right Room) from 9 a.m.

We hope you'll be able to come along on Friday 30th September and raise some money for people affected by cancer.

School Council Election

Every year, each class from Y1 – 6 elects two children to join the School Council. Children who would like to be elected need to prepare a speech to say in front of their class on Thursday 29th September. The eagerly awaited results will be announced on Friday 30th September in our ‘Celebration Assembly.' Good luck boys and girls!

This event would not have taken place without the hardwork and determination of the parents involved. Their positive attitudes even managed to change the wet and miserable weather to sunshine by midday.

Building update

Due to the current economic situation funding was not made available to continue with our phased upgrading of the school. Fortunately Phase 1 and 2, the most important phases, were completed at a cost in excess of £1 millions pounds of which the governors 10% was paid for by the Diocese as part of the agreement reached during the merger process. It is unlikely that any significant monies will become available in future years. The governors have therefore decided to allocate over £70k of monies , not now required for phase 3, to upgrade the exterior of all the classrooms currently housing years 3,4,5 and 6. All the windows and doors will be replaced with the latest white aluminium frames and double glazing. The wooden panels above the windows will also be replaced together with drainpipes.

Additional fencing will also be installed to further enhance the safeguarding of our children.

This work will start very shortly and is programmed to be completed for the end of the summer school holidays.

This work will not only enhance the appearance of the building but, more importantly, will provide a more comfortable working environment for staff and children alike.

Community Shield Award

Each child will receive a free swimming ticket for Formby Pool to use in the Summer holidays. They will also have a BBQ on the afternoon of Wednesday 20th July. Parents are welcome to attend.

Beacon Traders' Ultimate Raffle

The draw will take place on Saturday July 16 at TSP Summer Fayre with 15 prizes up for grabs!

Diverse traders from Azure Dental to The Left Bank are all getting involved.The top prize has been donated by The Cutting Gallery and is worth £650.

The majority of funds raised will benefit our children at Trinity St. Peter's and a percentage will be donated to Save The Children (our chosen charity).

Open Afternoon

Open Afternoon will be held on Friday 8th July. All the children, with the exception of Nursery pupils, will be gathered in the school hall from 1:00pm. Parents can collect their children from this time onwards.

The purpose of the afternoon is to allow parents and children to meet their new class teachers and to see the room where they will be based for the year ahead.

Afterwards, children may go home accompanied by a parent/carer.

Records of Achievement will be sent home at the end of the summer term. These do not need to be returned to school. A new system of recording pupil achievement is being developed from September.

Reverend Keith retires

Reverend Keith Jones retired from his post as Vicar of Holy Trinity at the end of April. Keith supported the school to the fullest in his roles as Vicar and governor. He has worked tirelessly for the children and the school and without doubt his presence will be missed. It could take up to 12 months for his replacement to be appointed and in the interim Rev Kath will attend school and Margaret Blake has been appointed by the Diocese to replace Keith as a governor during the interregnum.

We wish Keith and Meg the very best for their retirement.

Reverend Keith Jones, Vicar of Holy Trinity Church,retired at the end of April. Rev. Keith was heavily involved in the merger and in addition to his responsibilities to the Christian ethos of the school he has also been a fully involved and committed governor. We wish him and his wife, Meg, a very happy and healthy retirement. It may take up to a year for a new vicar to be appointed
