Year 3- Autumn 1- Week 4

Date: 25th Sep 2020 @ 4:57pm

Another fantastic week in Year 3!

This week, we enjoyed another whole school Collective Worship via Zoom. We were treated to Mark from Holy Trinity Church, who led us through a story from St. Peter. To celebrate our monthly value of ‘Respect’, we wrote some beautiful acrostic poems to describe what ‘Respect’ encompasses and how we can be respectful towards others.

In Science, we became geologists and investigated the three different types of rocks. After learning about how rocks are formed, we studied different types of rocks and then examined them closely with a magnifying glass. We then discussed the different properties of rocks using scientific vocabulary.

In PSHE, we were inspired by the heartfelt book ‘Here We Are’ by Oliver Jeffers and listened to Louis Armstrong’s ‘What a wonderful world’. After discussing our favourite parts of the world, we decided to show our appreciation for our beautiful planet by writing our own song lyrics.

Next week’s spellings have been uploaded onto Google Classroom. By allowing your child to use Google Classroom, you are confirming your acceptance of our Acceptable Use Policy.

As always, have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing you all next week!
