The children are loving our Forest School sessions! In between the rain we decided to tidy the garden given the wind had blown down our sunflowers. We pulled them up and then Mrs Grayson cut the flower heads off so that we could harvest the seeds to plant in Spring and to use as bird food during the Winter. We enjoyed looking the seeds and heads through magnifying glasses. What great teamwork!

The children have enjoyed learning about ‘Remembrance Day’ and why we celebrate it. The children enjoyed lots of different activities such as making poppies from loose parts, collage materials and even decoration a biscuit to look like a Poppy. The children also took part in a 2 minutes silence where they had time to think about and remember all of those who have been injured or died at war.

The children have also spent time learning about the Diwali, the children shared the story ‘Binny’s Diwali and then spent some time thinking about similarities and differences between celebrations of light we may have experienced, bonfire night, lights at Christmas. The children then spent some time making Rangoli patterns and creating a diva lamp by folding paper.

Please can you ensure your child has a warm coat in school at all times and that it is clearly labelled with their name, thank you
