Nursery - Spring1 - Week2

WOW what a busy week we have had, we welcomed to the class two new friends who soon settled and were having fun!

As part of our theme ‘Winter’ theme the children have enjoyed a variety of different stories. We have talked about the types of clothing we may wear in the Winter and then how they are different to the clothes we wear in Summer. The children enjoyed sorting different the clothes and talking about why they would or would not wear them in the winter. After reading the story ‘Winter Sleep’ the children were inspired to make bird feeders to try and attract different birds into our outdoor area. The children enjoyed creating the bird feeders using pinecones, lard and bird seed, they are very excited to use binoculars and the bird checklist to see which birds we can spot. We particularly enjoyed singing along to ‘The Winter Hokey Pokey’ learning lots of new actions to help keep us warm.

Please can you ensure your child has a warm coat, hat, gloves and a FULL change of clothes including underwear and socks in school at all times and that it is clearly labelled with their name, thank you
