Nursery - Summer 2 - Week 3

The weeks are flying by in Nursery, we are having so much fun!
This week we started our new theme ‘Under the sea’. The children were left a very special gift of new sea creatures and divers for our water tray and a new ‘under the sea’ story book. Using ‘Commotion in the Ocean’ as a stimulus, we looked at the different sea creatures that we could see and identified their features. The children then enjoyed making their own jelly fish in the creative corner. In the home corner, the children have also enjoyed acting out being by the seaside, making ice creams, relaxing on sun loungers, or going for swim. We have had so much fun!
Nursery learnt about the importance of staying cool in the hot weather. We worked together to make some shade over our sand area and enjoyed playing under it. We then played parachute games together outside.
On Friday, Caroline came into Nursery for Godly play. Caroline discussed the Pretzel prayer and how when you look at a pretzel it can remind us of crossed arms in prayer. Thank you for a lovely session Caroline!
