This week in RE we looked at different countries on the globe and learnt about how the Harvest festival is celebrated across the world. We discussed similarities and differences in other events that we celebrate for example we have turkey at Christmas in America they have it at ‘Thanksgiving’. The children learnt that in Thailand they use fruit from the harvest to make pictures with and enjoyed making their own pictures using different fruits.

On Monday we celebrated ‘Hello Yellow’ day for mental health awareness. We read a story called ‘Simon sock’ and talked about how we are all unique in our own special way. We then created a ‘TSP family paper chain’ to show that we are one big family that look out for one another.

On Wednesday we had our first Forest school session. The children sensibly walked over to the fire circle and we all sat together and talked about the rules. The children the all had a go at leaving the fire circle safely and swapping places with their friend. We then played a game of ‘1,2,3, where are you?’. What fun we have had!

In maths this week we have been looking at repeating patterns. The children have enjoyed making repeating patterns out of autumn treasures that we found at forest school. We then made our own patterns out of different objects that we could find in the classroom. Well done everyone.

We all arrived to school on Friday in our Pyjamas to raise money for Alder Hey. Throughout the day the children enjoyed listening to stories with their friends and playing games.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and see you all next week.
