Reception - Autumn 1 - Week 7

On Wednesday the children attended the final WOW service of the half term, Anne talked to the children about the creation story and three of the children stood at the front to say a prayer. Thank you to Anne and Caroline for a lovely service.

This week the children enjoyed another visit to Forest school where they recapped Forest school rules the calling sound and how we use the sitting circle. We discussed the signs of Autumn and the different things we could see and hear. The children were then encouraged to go and collect leaves to build leaf towers. We decided that the best leaves to collect would be large, flat ones. What fun we had!

For our theme we have loved listening to the story ‘Owl Babies’ we have learnt lots of fascinating facts about Owls and also thought about other Nocturnal animals. The children have enjoyed creating their own owl paintings, pinecone owls and we even made a dark den that we all sat inside together.

On Friday, for a class reward, the children enjoyed a movie afternoon with hot chocolate and popcorn. Well done to each and every one of you for being such super stars this week!
