We hope you all had a lovely week off!

This week, the children have learnt about ‘All Saints day’ following on from ‘All Hallows day’. The children were presented with two identical looking bowls and had to taste what was inside them, some picked something tasty and some selected something not so nice. The children had great fun looking at each others reactions! We discussed that through life we experience good and bad things and God will always guide us through both.

We got our dancing shoes on this week and had lots of fun filming for our new ‘Kindness video’. We can’t wait to see the end result!

The children really enjoyed learning about Guy Fawkes and the gun powder plot. We discussed how people celebrate bonfire night and talked about the different food you might eat. We then discussed the importance of firework safety when visiting firework displays. The children thought of their own ways to stay safe during this time. The children then created firework paintings and a chocolate breadstick sparkler. What fun we had!

We had a very exciting visit from one of our lovely parents who came to talk to the children about how pumpkins grow and how they are harvested. We learnt that there are lots of different types of pumpkins and enjoyed noticing the differences between them. What an interesting talk this was.

What a busy week we have had in Reception and we look forward to seeing you next week!
