This week, continuing with our RE theme of ‘Special people’, we had a lovely visit from Police officer Tim, Gress and El who came to talk to them about their role in the community. The children had lots of questions to ask and even got to have a go at wearing their special hats. Thank you so much for coming in to see us!

On Wednesday we went to our 'WOW' service at St Peters church where Anne and Caroline talked to the children about Advent. Three of the Reception children then said three Advent prayers. You were amazing!

For Road Safety week, the children learnt about how to stay safe near roads. We talked about how to cross the road safely and made our own road in the outdoor area to practice. What fun we have had.

The children have also been enjoying the story ‘The Gingerbread Man’.  We introduced a ‘Flow Map’ to the children explaining to them that it is a way to help us to retell a story. We worked with the children to help them sequence the pictures of the story and then encouraged them to create a simple phrase under each picture. The children worked so hard, well done everyone!

In Forest school, the children enjoyed working together to help clear the outdoor area in preparation for the winter time. We could not believe how many leaves there were, so we had lots of fun collecting them.

In Maths the children have been learning all about numbers 4 and 5 and different ways these numbers can be made. They then enjoyed learning about 1 more and then 1 less. The children then had a go at building with cubes to help with their understanding.
