What a magical final week we have had this week in Year 2!

We enjoyed an extra special Collective Worship on Wednesday as we went to the church alongside Year 1. We read beautifully a retell of the Nativity and sung our song really well. Year 1 also delivered some really beautiful prayers. Well done to all of the children on this.

The children were certainly in the Christmas spirit on Monday when they performed their final Christmas Sing-A-Long for you all. I’m sure you can all agree that the children sung their hearts out for all of the performances and it has been lovely to see all of their happy, little faces beaming with smiles while they were performing.

On Tuesday, we had our Computing day. First of all, the children created their own Christmas stories using Book Creator. The children had a wonderful time with this and I loved the stories they cam up with. In the afternoon, we had a go at coding our own stories on Scratch. The children really enjoyed creating their own algorithms and moving their characters around the screen to create their stories.

Also, on Tuesday, the children had a great time completing their Santa Dash. The children raced around the field and it really did begin to feel like Christmas. It was made even more special with the visit of Santa and the children being able to have their picture taken with him.

On Wednesday, the children all looked amazing in their Christmas jumpers and absolutely loved completing our DT projects. Putting together our puppets with split pins, it was lovely to see how happy they were with what they had produced.

On Thursday, the children came into school all excited because of our Christmas Party Day. Bingo, dancing and singing were just some of the fun activities that we completed. The children thoroughly enjoyed our dance off and our party games during the day and it was lovely to see how excited they are for Christmas.

Can we also say a massive thank you for your kindness and generosity in all of the presents that you have given us. It really is overwhelming, so thank you.

I hope you and your families all have a lovely, safe Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year!
