Year 3 - Autumn 2 - Week 7

What a wonderful and jam packed final week we have had here in Year 3!
We started the week in the best way possible, with our final singing concerts in front of all our family and friends. The children were a credit to themselves, singing with pride and determination (even when the wrong song played) and we could not be prouder of you all.
On Tuesday, we donned our festive gear and took part in our Santa Dash,which was a huge success. We were delighted when Santa arrived to take us out and the starting line was bustling with anticipation, could they beat Miss Jones? Well the answer is a resounding yes, regardless of her cheating... Lots of laughs were had – adding to what had already been a great few weeks of Christmas cheer!
Christmas jumper day was another success, even though some jumpers were the wrong colour... we were delighted with everyones amazing effort. We loved getting crafty and creating our own jumpers, making Christmas cards for our loved ones and tucking into a festive lunch. The crackers were a hit and the party hats certainly brightened up our afternoon.
Christmas Party Day was a particular highlight of the week. We loved completing a range of festive and fun party games, especially charades which proved harder than we all thought, especially the not talking part. Musical chairs, pass the parcel and pin the nose on ruldoph were also hits and brought out everyones competative nature. We also loved teaming up with Year 4 for a festive game of hide and seek.
On Friday, we were welcomed into St. Peter’s for their Christmas service - singing hymns and saying prayers altogether. We would like to say a huge well done to Year 4 for their fantastic redition of the Nativity. We loved being part of this festive service. The pressure is certainly on for our Easter service.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our acedmic year thus far, and cannot wait to see what Spring Term brings. Our virtual classroom is also attached below, which contains handy links to lots of learning platforms that can be used to further support your child’s learning. Please be reminded of our new PE days which were shared via school spider. Year 3 will now have PE on Tuesday and Wednesday.
From us all here in year 3, we wish you the most amazing Christmas and a happy New Year.Thank you to all those parents who have sent in gifts, including the class collection, it is extremely thoughtful and generous. We look forward to seeing you all safe, happy and refreshed on Wednesday 5th January. May 2022 be as exciting!
