What an excellent and busy week within Year 4 to end the term!

Ahead of the Jubilee, we took the time to join the awesome Horrible Histories’ artist Martin Brown for a right royal show about great and gruesome monarchs. We loved his live drawing, silly stories and foul facts!

After listening to our peers' speeches in class stating why they should be selected to represent Year 4 in the TSP pupil voice groups, we began the week casting our votes at the TSP Polling Station using our very own Polling cards. A huge congratulations to the nominated representatives, who we know, will deliver the pupil voice of Year 4 in their group meetings and ensure our opinions and beliefs are shared.

This week has been full of cheers and celebrations, particularly on Friday, when we took part in the TSP talent show. Following a morning of singing, dancing, magic and comedy acts, our two winning performances from Year 4 advanced into the school talent show to compete against winners from across the school. We were honoured to meet members of the Royal family and some familiar faced judges as we performed following a rendition of the National Anthem to mark the Queen’s Jubilee. Well done to all participants, you truly were shining stars!

On Tuesday, we had a lovely morning spent writing in our Author Books. We have thoroughly enjoyed delving into the story ‘Where the forest meets the sea’ by the fantastic Jeannie Baker, taking lots of inspiration for our own non-chronological report writing. It is amazing to see how many artist skills were used in our Author Book and how truly fantastic our information booklets look, alongside our rainforest design.

For our Computing Day this term, we used the brilliant Book Creator App to undertake a series of creative challenges based around the Harry Potter books. After designing our own wizarding front covers for our newly created digital books, we added audio, animation and effects to bring our stories to life.

A special ‘well done’ as well to our boys’ football team who faced Woodlands this week in their first match. They made us incredibly proud with their positive attitude and teamwork.
