Another week of sunshine, hard work and showcasing our school value of ‘Enjoy’.

In RE, we thought about our own experiences of prayer and the times and places we had communicated with God in this way. We connected our learning back to who we pray for and identified the times where we felt we needed to pray for loved ones, those who teach or lead us and those who may be sick at this time. Thinking further about our Collective Worship value of Truthfulness, we read the Emperor's New Clothes and discussed how no one wants to tell the Emporer the truth but when someone does, it is for the better. We linked this with the ideas that many people might not want to upset someone by telling the truth.

We were thrilled to join the rest of the school in completing a Lap of Hope on Tuesday, to celebrate the Commonwealth Games and show our support for Comic Relief. We started the morning by creating pledges for the world we wanted to see, before heading out to form a lap around the school with the other year groups. In the afternoon, we then proceeded to attend an assembly led by the Year 5 and Year 6 Sports Ambassadors to learn a little more about the up and coming Commonwealth Games.

This week we have worked on both our resilience and effort as we tackled some assessments to check our understanding of our learning so far this school year. The children should all be very proud of their dedication to their assessments this week and the enthusiasm they have shown.

Making the most of the sunshine, we completed calculation practise outside, using chalk to draw out the method we would use to solve calculations using the four operations. We certainly do love to learn outside!

On Friday, we attended the TSP Summer Fair. This is by far our most favourite event of the year and we were thrilled to use our tokens to take part in many of the stalls including tin can alley, tombola, beat the goalie and even pay a visit to some farm animals and an incredible bouncy castle. With prizes won and lots of tasty treats, we definitely ended the week on a high!
