Reception - Summer 2 - Week 6
Date: 7th Jul 2026 @ 2:26pm

We can’t quite believe that we are in the final two weeks of Reception! The year has flown by, and we are enjoying making lots of special memories together before the children move on to Year 1.
The children have also been busy practising for their final WOW Service of the year. Each child will share a few words or a picture linked to their time in Reception we are so proud of everything they have achieved this year.
This week, we have loved exploring a variety of stories and sharing our favourite books with our friends. It has been wonderful to hear the children talking about the characters, events and stories they have enjoyed throughout the year.
In Maths, the children will revisit their learning about patterns. They will have opportunities to copy, continue and create a widening range of repeating patterns, using a variety of different resources and materials. The children will also continue to explore maps and plans, learning how these can be used to represent places. They will use maps and plans to identify where things are and describe their position in relation to other objects and landmarks.
We were so excited on Tuesday when, as part of Forest School, Mrs Bevin lit a fire and helped us make s’mores. It was such a special treat and an experience we will remember for a long time!
On Friday, we enjoyed our Summer Fair. The children had a wonderful time exploring the different stalls and activities in the hall before enjoying a picnic lunch and spending time on the bouncy castle. It was a fantastic day and a lovely reminder of what a special place Trinity St Peter’s is.
We hope you enjoy the sunshine and the football over the weekend. We are looking forward to making the most of our final week together in Reception!
