Governors
Local Academy Council (LAC)
Each school in the Trust has a Local Academy Council (LAC), which helps ensure the school runs well and provides the best possible education for pupils. The LAC works closely with the Headteacher and school leaders, offering support and constructive challenge to make sure decisions are always made in the best interests of the children. Governors play an important and rewarding role. They help shape the school’s direction and make decisions that support pupils, families and staff. Governors can be:
- Parents or carers
- School staff
- Members of the local community
- Representatives recommended by the Headteacher or All Saints Multi Academy Trust
When Parent or Staff Governor positions become available, the school will inform the community. Eligible candidates can put themselves forward, and parents or staff then take part in an election.
Governors are appointed for a four‑year term unless they choose to step down earlier. All Governors have voting rights and may join committees at the first full LAC meeting each academic year. The Council usually meets once each term.
The Governing Body includes representatives from:
- Holy Trinity PCC
- St Peter’s PCC
- The Diocese of Liverpool
- The local community
- Parents and staff
They work through a committee structure and help make decisions about how the school is organised and run. A key part of their role is supporting and promoting the Christian vision and character of Trinity St Peter’s.
