Year 3 - Autumn 1 - Week 4

Date: 25th Sep 2026 @ 8:04am

We’ve had another wonderful week in Year 3!

In English, the children have been writing dream narratives about a character who meets an animal and journeys to the place where the ocean meets the sky. They have brought together everything they have learned so far to create imaginative stories. Well done, Year 3!

In Maths, we continued exploring place value by placing numbers on number lines, continueing with our times table knowledge and playing games, ordering numbers up to 1,000 and comparing them. During outdoor learning, we counted in 50s and 100s and played games to practise our skills.

In Science, we researched animals with exoskeletons, animals with endoskeletons and animals with no bones at all. The children enjoyed using the Chromebooks to investigate. In RE, we continued learning about prophets through the story of Jonah and the whale.

Our Geography lessons took us across Europe as we learned more about our neighbouring countries. The children have loved sharing stories of places they have visited!. In PE we continued with our Gymnastics unit and explored rolls, the children had a lot of fun discovering different ways to move.

Today, we celebrated Harvest at church. The children sang beautifully and were respectful throughout—we were very proud of them. We also marked the European Day of Languages by greeting one another and asking and answering questions in Spanish.

Have a lovely weekend!
