Year 3 - Autumn 1 - Week 6
Date: 8th Oct 2026 @ 8:02pm
What an action-packed, fun-filled week we have had in Year 3!
In English, we wrote paragraphs from Dr Morley’s point of view, describing an Arctic animal. The children showed wonderful imagination and included fronted adverbials, conjunctions, noun phrases and apostrophes in their writing.
In Maths, we continued practising our times tables and working on our times tables passports. We also investigated adding ones, tens and hundreds to numbers, exploring when we need to exchange.
On Tuesday, the children sang superbly in a round during our session with the singers from Liverpool Cathedral. We have attached a video for you to enjoy! In Music, we are combining singing, drumming and rhythm-stick skills as we prepare for a performance later in the year.
In Science, we explored the human skeleton and other animals with endoskeletons. We then took our learning outdoors and created skeletons using natural materials. In Spanish, we have been learning numbers and practising counting up and down. It has been wonderful to see the children challenging themselves and enjoying learning another language.
In PE, our gymnastics sessions brought together all the skills we have learnt so far. The children were delighted to use the climbing frame in the hall, and there were smiles all around as they took part!
Well done, Year 3, for your enthusiasm, creativity and hard work this week!
Have a lovely weekend.
