In RE, we read The Good Samaritan and discussed what the story teaches Christians about caring for others. The children talked thoughtfully about how we can follow these values in our own lives by being kind, helpful, and showing compassion.

In English, we have been exploring setting descriptions using expanded noun phrases to make our writing more interesting and detailed. The children also practised writing dialogue using speech sandwiches, carefully punctuating speech between two characters and adding description of how the characters spoke and behaved.

In Maths, we have been learning about capacity and volume. The children compared different containers, estimated how much liquid they could hold, and measured amounts using practical equipment. There was lots of great discussion and hands on learning.

In Science, the children each adopted a rock and carried out investigations to test its hardness, buoyancy and permeability. The children loved making predictions, observing carefully, and recording their results like real scientists!

During outdoor learning, we made bird feeders using pinecones. We covered them in bird food and hung them outside to help care for local wildlife. The children showed great teamwork and enjoyed connecting their learning with nature.

In History, we travelled back to Ancient Egypt and learned about Tutankhamun’s tomb. The children examined pictures of artefacts found inside and tried to work out what they were and how they might have been used.
