Year 3 - Summer 1 - Week 4
Date: 7th May 2026 @ 3:31pm

In English, we focused on using adverbials, setting descriptions, and character actions to make our writing more exciting. We planned and wrote a diary entry, thinking carefully about how a character might feel and what they would include in their writing.
In Maths, we have been adding fractions. The children worked hard to find common denominators and showed good perseverance when tackling tricky problems.
Our Science lesson was lots of fun this week! We made our own dirt pudding to represent the layers of the Earth. This helped us learn about soil, bedrock, the crust, and the core in a very tasty and memorable way.
In PE, we started our new tennis topic. We practised balancing the ball on the racket and made small passes to one another, developing our coordination and control.
On Thursday, we visited the Liverpool World Museum, where we took part in an Egyptian mummification workshop. This linked brilliantly with our current History topic, and the children were fascinated by what they learned.
Finally, during Outdoor Learning, we went on a minibeast hunt. The children loved exploring the outdoor area and were very excited to discover different creatures in their natural habitats.
