In RE, we thought carefully about how Christians try to live by the commandments given by God and Jesus. We shared our ideas and created a class mind map, showing ways people can follow these teachings in everyday life.

In Maths, we focused on fractions of amounts. We practised finding fractions such as 1/3 and then extended this to finding 2/3 of different numbers. We used practical resources and drawings to help us understand how to share amounts equally.

In English, we worked hard to write our own version of the ending to the story 'Journey'. We used a speech sandwich to include dialogue in our writing and focused on using adverbials, expanded noun phrases, adverbs and similes to make our writing more detailed and engaging. We are really looking forward to planning and writing our own stories next week!

In History, we explored gods and goddesses and developed our research skills by choosing one to focus on. We used books and online resources to find out key facts about our chosen god, including their powers, symbols and importance within ancient beliefs. We then organised our findings and shared them with the class, showing great curiosity and enthusiasm.

In PE, we had our first swimming lesson, which was very exciting! The children showed fantastic confidence when entering the water and listened carefully to safety instructions.

Finally, in Art, we designed our own scrolls, carefully thinking about patterns, borders and decorative details. We showed great creativity in our designs and are really excited to begin making our scrolls next week using different materials and techniques.

Reminders:

Swimming continues to be on a Wednesday afternoon.
