This week in Year 3, we have taken part in lots of exciting learning activities across the curriculum.

In RE, we learned about Sukkahs, exploring what they are, why they are important in Judaism and how they are used during the festival of Sukkot. We then used our creativity to design our own Sukkahs, thinking carefully about the features they should include.

In English, we have been using persuasive language to write an article encouraging people to come and buy giraffe-themed products. The children worked hard to make their writing engaging by including alliteration, expanded noun phrases and similes to enhance their work.

In Maths, we have been learning about parallel lines and 2D shapes. We also practised measuring and drawing lines accurately to create our own shapes, developing our understanding of geometry and measurement.

In Art, we created beautiful pictures of sunsets and sunflowers using a dot painting technique. The children carefully applied dots of colour to create vibrant and eye-catching artwork.

During Outdoor Learning, we enjoyed a team game where we pretended that pipe cleaners were worms. One team hid the "worms" while the other team searched for them, working together and using their observation skills to find as many as possible.

As part of the Royal Mail Heroes Stamp Competition, we wrote letters to members of the England team, wishing them good luck in their competition. The children enjoyed sharing their support and encouragement through their writing.

In Geography, we compared India and the United Kingdom, looking at similarities and differences between the two countries, including aspects of culture, climate and daily life.

On Friday, we enjoyed the Summer Fair. The children had a wonderful time taking part in a variety of games and tackling the obstacle course. The sunny weather made the afternoon even more enjoyable, and it was lovely to see everyone having so much fun together.

We have had a fantastic week and are very proud of all the effort and enthusiasm the children have shown in their learning. Well done, Year 3!
