Year 4 - Summer 2 - Week 6
Date: 7th Jul 2026 @ 7:59pm

We have had another wonderful and busy week in Year 4!
In Collective Worship, we explored the story The Dot. The children reflected on how the main character, Vashti, began with a single dot on her page and, through encouragement and belief in herself, discovered that her dot could become anything she imagined it to be. This simple beginning inspired her to experiment, be brave and take pride in her creativity. We talked about how even small starts can grow into something amazing when we have confidence and try our best.
We were thrilled to join in with the Royal Mail campaign, which allows children to post letters of support to the England team free of charge. The class wrote thoughtful messages filled with motivation and encouragement for the next stage of their World Cup journey.
We are also incredibly proud of all the hard work shown by the children attending Rocksteady this year. Their end‑of‑year performance was a real highlight, and it was wonderful to see them showcase their talents so confidently in front of their loved ones. We hope they keep rocking next year.
A favourite on the TSP calendar, the Summer Fair, took place this week too. The children enjoyed a range of exciting activities, including an inflatable obstacle course and a variety of stalls such as the teddy tombola, hook a duck and face painting. We also enjoyed a picnic alongside our friends, which made the day feel even more special.
We also travelled to Liverpool Cathedral for a celebration service with schools across our Trust. It was a meaningful moment to come together as one community, and a particular highlight was singing a Year 4 and TSP favourite, My Lighthouse, which filled the cathedral beautifully. We certainly are stronger together!
We have also enjoyed taking part in the Sumdog contest this week, giving it our all to answer as many maths questions as we could to climb the leaderboard.
One final week in Year 4 to go! Let's make it the best yet. See you Monday!
Reminders:
- Skateboarding sessions take place on Monday – children should wear their PE kit to school.
