Year 5- Spring 2- Week 5
Date: 27th Mar 2026 @ 12:24pm

What a fantastic final week of term it has been in Year 5! The children have worked incredibly hard and enjoyed a brilliant mixture of learning, creativity and Easter excitement.
In English, we have been busy editing and writing up our biographies on Chris Hadfield. The children have shown real care and attention to detail, producing beautifully presented pieces of work. They look amazing, and the children are rightly proud of what they have achieved!
Our maths learning continued with our unit on statistics. This week, the children tackled interpreting line graphs and tables, developing their confidence in understanding and analysing data. Their reasoning and explanations have been impressive.
We wrapped up our Geography topic on Ancient Greece by exploring what daily life was like. The children learned about Greek clothing, leisure, food and childhood, and enjoyed comparing these aspects to their own lives today. There were some fascinating discussions about how life has changed and what has stayed surprisingly similar!
On Tuesday and Thursday, we were thoroughly entertained by the talented musicians taking part in the RockSteady concerts. Year 5 were especially proud of their classmates who performed so confidently. Well done to all of you!
Thursday morning brought a real treat as we enjoyed a Forest School session alongside Year 2. The children practised their wood‑chopping skills and worked brilliantly as a team to build a fire. The highlight, of course, was toasting marshmallows over the flames.
As we head into the holidays, we hope all our Year 5 pupils have a fantastic Easter break. Enjoy the rest, spend time with family and friends, and we look forward to seeing you all refreshed and ready for more learning after the holidays.
Happy Easter from the Year 5 team! 🐣
