We are now in our final half-term of primary school!

It seems like only yesterday that our Year 6 pupils were in Reception, saying goodbye to their Year 6 buddies...now we're only weeks away from it being their turn!

The hard work and determination hasn’t stopped since SATs have finished though. We have already managed to:

  • Add three new writing pieces to our author books, including a poem and a non-chronological report.
  • Start our new Science unit on ‘Light’, which has included a practical investigation on reflection.

Our leavers’ preparations have officially begun as well:

  • In PE, we have started our dance sessions and already the class have proven they can deliver a performance!
  • In Music, we have mainly focused on singing as we have several performances to deliver, including at the Leavers’ Service at Liverpool Cathedral next week.
  • We have started a new class book, 'The Final Year' by Matt Goodfellow.
  • There have been other opportunities for reflection on the 8-year journeys we have been on through art pieces and discussions around the much anticipated, ‘leavers’ production’!

Upcoming Events and Reminders:

Please make sure you check the summer diary dates for upcoming important events - there are several events linked specifically to Year 6! Also, ensure you have read the letters sent on School Spider regarding next week’s trips to Alton Towers and Liverpool Cathedral.

PE will continue on Wednesdays and Thursdays this half-term.

We hope you are all looking forward to the upcoming celebrations. Year 6 are going to be very busy for the next two months!
