Year 6 - Summer 2 - Week 3
Date: 18th Jun 2026 @ 10:25pm

What a week it has been for our Year 6 pupils! From a fantastic Sports Day to the proper start of our production rehearsals (and everything in between), there has been plenty to keep us busy. The children have enjoyed a week packed full of memorable moments as this half term races on.
Excitement is building in our classroom as the World Cup gathers speed and our class sweepstake continues! With a fantastic prize up for grabs, lots of children have been eagerly following the tournament, keeping a close eye on their team and their progress. There have already been plenty of twists and surprises, and we can't wait to see who will be crowned our sweepstake champion!
In Maths, we revisited our learning on mean and range also through the context of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Using the world rankings of the teams in each group, we calculated the mean ranking and range before comparing our results to determine which groups appeared to be the strongest and most competitive. The children demonstrated excellent reasoning skills as they justified their conclusions and debated which teams might progress through the tournament.
World Cup fever dominated our Spanish lessons as we learned and practised football-related vocabulary. The children explored the names of different countries in Spanish, matched flags to their countries and worked hard to translate key words and phrases. It was great to see them applying their language skills in such an engaging and topical context.
In Collective Worship, we revisited our school values through a fun and interactive game. The children demonstrated an excellent understanding of what our values look like in action and reflected on how they have lived them out throughout their time at Trinity St Peter's. It was wonderful to see them celebrating everything that our school stands for.
As one busy week comes to an end, we're already looking ahead to another full of opportunities, challenges and memorable moments. See you on Monday!
