Year 6 - Summer 2 - Week 7

What an unforgettable final week of primary school it has been for our Year 6 children. It is hard to believe that our journey together at Trinity St Peter's has now come to an end but what a truly wonderful way to celebrate the end of primary school.
The highlight of the week was undoubtedly our leavers' performance. After weeks of rehearsals, script learning and preparation, the children took to the stage with confidence, enthusiasm and an incredible sense of teamwork. Their performances were outstanding, bringing laughter, energy and so much personality to every scene. It was wonderful to see every child shine and showcase their individual talents. The audience's laughter, applause and fantastic feedback were a testament to all of the hard work, commitment and determination that the children had shown throughout the process. We could not have been prouder of them.
One of the most special parts of our final week was spending time with our Reception buddies. Across three separate visits, the children shared their heartfelt thank-you letters, enjoyed playing games together and reflected on the friendships they have built throughout the year. Our final buddy session was particularly emotional as the Year 6 children presented each Reception child with a Buddy Certificate before sharing one last goodbye. It has been a privilege to watch these relationships grow over the year, and we know our Reception children will have wonderful memories of their Year 6 buddies for years to come.
Our Leavers' Service at Holy Trinity Church was a truly special occasion and a fitting way to mark the end of the children's journey at Trinity St Peter's. Families were taken on a moving journey through the years as a photo montage captured treasured memories from Reception right through to Year 6, reminding us just how much the children have grown during their time with us. The children also shared their hopes and dreams for the future, offering a glimpse into the exciting paths that now lie ahead, before families enjoyed watching their beautiful leavers' dance to A Sky Full of Stars and listening to a heartfelt performance of Somewhere Only We Know. It was a joyful yet reflective service that celebrated not only everything the children have achieved, but also the remarkable young people they have become.
The week concluded with our final celebrations together as a class. There was laughter, tears, photographs and plenty of opportunities to look back on everything we have shared. While saying goodbye was never going to be easy, they leave us with so many wonderful memories as well as the confidence, resilience and friendships that will support them as they begin the exciting adventure of secondary school.
To our incredible Year 6 class, thank you for the laughter, the kindness, the determination and the countless memories you have given us too. You have been a privilege to teach and we could not be prouder of the young people you have become.
We wish every one of you the very best for the future. Continue to work hard, be kind, believe in yourselves and, above all, continue to shine brightly. You will always be a part of the Trinity St Peter's family.
