Nursery - Spring 2 - Week 2

What a lovely week we have had in Nursery this week!

This week we continued our ‘Treasure Island’ theme and learnt some new vocabulary whilst finding out about the different features of a pirate ship. Following on from this the children looked at different types of boat and we compared differences and similarities between each one and a ship. The children then enjoyed making their own boat in the creative area. 

On Tuesday we read our focus book ‘Pirates Love Underpants’. The children were given three images from the story and they have to decide which came at the beginning, middle and end of the story. The children then enjoyed acting out the story with the costumes and props in the pirate themed home corner.

On Wednesday, we went over to Forest School. We recapped the forest rules and talked about the signs of spring we looked for last week. The children played a game called, ‘1,2,3, where are you?’. What fun we have had!

On Thursday we celebrated ‘World Book Day’. The children enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book character all together as a school. The children strutted their stuff in a catwalk to show their outfit to their friends. The teachers then acted out the story of ‘Pirates Love Underpants’ whilst the children drank some delicious hot chocolate. We then had to search for the missing golden underpants! The children then had lots of fun designing their own pair of golden underpants.
