Time flies when we are having fun in Nursery! We cannot believe it is half term already!

On Wednesday we took part in Forest school and planted our own sunflower seeds to take home and look after. The children followed a step by step process to ensure the seed had all that it needed at the first stage of planting. We cannot wait to see the pictures of your sunflowers when they have started to grow. We have also been looking after the plants and vegetables that we have been growing in the garden. The children have understood the importance of allowing the plants to have space, food, water and sunlight and the children helped to water all the plants in the garden. Well done Nursery!

For RSE week, we first talked about the importance of showing sensitivity to others feelings. We read the story ‘The Rainbow Fish’ and talked about how the children would feel in different scenarios. The children then made their own rainbow fish, using celery to print the scales. Later in the week we discussed the importance of developing positive relationships with adults and peers. The children came up with ideas of how we can be kind and caring friends in Nursery.

On Wednesday we walked to St Peter’s Church for our ‘WOW’ service. Caroline and Anne talked about a church being a special place. We sang some songs together with our friends in Reception and one of the children lit the candle. What a lovely service, thank you Anne and Caroline.

We hope you all have a lovely half term and see you all soon!
