This week for RE, the children have enjoyed listening to a story called ‘You are very special’. This provided the children with the opportunity to discuss how they were all very special and that God loves us all the same. The children then enjoyed making their own mirror to look in and remember how special they are!

This week the children have had lots of fun exploring their very first five phonics sounds in Reception – what an exciting start to their reading journey! Please see the Tapestry Memo for the sounds learnt so far, I’m sure the children will WOW you with what they have learnt so far!

In Maths the children have been learning to subitise numbers to 3 – recognising small groups of objects without needing to count them one by one.

For our ‘All About Me’ theme, we have continued to explore ‘The Colour Monster’ and think about different feelings. The children have talked about different feelings and by using the colour monster resources have begun to identify different feelings throughout the day and how different things make them feel.

We hope you have a great weekend and look forward to seeing you on Monday
