What a wonderful week we've had in Reception!

This week at Forest School, our Nursery children enjoyed a wonderful hands-on activity where they worked together to create their very own “leaf tree.” Using a small stick and a collection of colourful leaves, the children took turns helping one another carefully attach each leaf. It was a great to see teamwork, patience, and creativity as they supported each other and celebrated their shared creation.

The children continue to impress us with their phonics learning. We're seeing fantastic progress—well done everyone! Please keep supporting at home, especially using 'Fred Talk' and 'Fred Fingers' to help with sounding out and spelling.

This week in maths, we explored matching sets using our lovely autumn collections. The children enjoyed deciding whether different sets were the same and explaining their thinking, such as: “The sets are the same because they have the same items in.” Great reasoning skills!

We attended our first WOW service of the year at St Peter’s Church, which was all about Harvest. The children sang beautifully and joined in with prayers—we are incredibly proud of them.

In RE, we learned about Harvest celebrations around the world. The children looked at different fruits and used a world map to find out where they came from. They then had a chance to taste a variety of fruits and vegetables—a delicious and educational experience!

Thank you for your continued support. What a great week—have a fabulous weekend!
