This term, our topic has been Growth and Change, and the children have loved exploring the life cycles of plants and animals. We planted our own seeds and have been watching them grow carefully each day, learning about what plants need to thrive. A highlight has been caring for our very own class caterpillars – we’ve been fascinated by how quickly they’re changing and can’t wait to see them turn into butterflies!

In RE, our focus has been on friendship and special places. We’ve had lots of lovely discussions about what it means to be a good friend, how we can show kindness to others, and the places that are special to us and why. The children have shared some lovely thoughts and experiences during circle time.

We were also lucky enough to have a visit from Active Sefton, who spoke to us about healthy eating. The children learned about making balanced food choices and had the chance to make and taste their very own fruit smoothies – delicious and nutritious!

In maths, we’ve been exploring numbers beyond 10 and developing our understanding through fun, hands-on activities. The children have also enjoyed working with 2D and 3D shapes, manipulating and rotating them to create patterns, pictures and structures – a great link to our construction play!

One of the most magical parts of our term has been the daily surprises from our visiting fairies. Each morning, the children couldn’t wait to discover what the fairies had been up to in our classroom overnight – from rearranging our dclassroom to leaving tiny notes or glitter trails. It’s been a fantastic way to spark curiosity and imagination.

We’re looking forward to the final term ahead and all the new adventures it will bring!
