What a fantastic week we have had in Year 2!

This week's focus in Maths has been Place Value where we have practised partitioning numbers into tens and ones. We have worked on spelling numbers up to 100 and also representing numbers using base 10. The children this week have enjoyed partitioning numbers in different ways. Next week we will be working on estimating numbers on a number line and counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

In English we have started our new unit based around the book Troll Swap. This week the children have predicted what might happen in the story and they also took great delight in using expanded noun phrases to compare the main character Timothy Limpet to other trolls. We can't wait to read more of the story next week.

In RE we have talked about our special books and discussed why they are special to us. We then linked this to the Bible and discussed why it is a special book. We compared the New Testament to the Old Testament and talked about the stories from the Bible that the chidren knew.

Thank you for such a lovely week, Year 2. Have a restful weekend.
