In Maths, we have continued with our addition and subtraction topic. The children started off using number bonds to work out related number bonds. We then answered number bond questions that were around the room and worked together to answer them correctly. It has been lovely to see that the children have continued working on their number bonds independently both in the classroom and outside at play time. Next week we will be working on adding and subtracting across the next 10.

In English, we have made predictions about the story 'Look Up' based on the blurb and front cover. The children enjoyed designing their own rockets based on the story and using technical and adventurous vocabulary to describe their rockets. Next week we will continue working on the story with a focus on using expanded noun phrases and conjunctions correctly.

In RE, we looked at the story of Mary Jones and how she saved money to buy her own Bible. We talked about our own treasured possessions and discussed why they were treasured. Next week we will be welcoming a special visitor into our class to talk about their Bible and why it is their most treasured possession.

In Science, we discussed how exercise keeps us healthy. The children enjoyed checking their heart rate before activities then checking it after different activities. In our outdoor classroom, the children used natural resources to create their own small dens.
