Year 2 - Autumn 2 - Week 6

What a lovely festive week we have had in year 2!

In Maths, we have continued with our shape topic. We have worked on counting edges and vertices on different 3D shapes and also continued patterns using 3D shapes making sure that we all know the different shape names. Our next maths topic will be money.

In RE, we have continued to look at the Nativity story. This week we looked at the role of Angel Gabriel and why it is important to deliver good news. We then looked at a tour of Blackburn Cathedral and looked at the different representations of angels in the Cathedral. We also looked at different pieces of artwork and then created our on angel artwork.

This week we continued with our coding work in Computing.The children learnt how to put a repeat code into Scratch Junior and watched the effect that this had on their characters.

We have enjoyed many festive celebrations including the lovely production of the Christmas Story by Churches Together, the present room, a delicious Christmas dinner and the fantastic TSP Christmas Extravaganza which included a magical visit to see Father Christmas in his grotto.
