Year 2 - Summer 1 - Week 5
Date: 20th May 2025 @ 9:02pm
A brilliant term with our wonderful Year 2 class!
Here are some of our highlights:
-
We enjoyed plenty of time in the beautiful sunshine, making the most of our outdoor areas. We played games and had PE lessons in the sun.
-
As part of our RE topic, ‘Why are churches such special places?’, we visited St Peter’s Church. We had the opportunity to ask lots of questions and admire the beautiful details within the church.
-
Our English story inspired us to hunt for animals in the pine woods! We researched endangered animals and discovered some weird and wonderful creatures that need our help. We even wrote persuasive letters to support the protection of their habitats.
-
In Art this term, we had great fun using clay to create some fantastic pieces. We learned various techniques and made both a clay pinch pot and a decorative tile.
-
In Geography, we explored the topic ‘Seas and Coasts’—learning about coastal features in the UK and around the world.
-
On our class trip, we visited Formby Beach and the Pinewoods. We discussed the features of the beach and took part in a beach hunt to see how many interesting things we could find!
