What a fantastic week we’ve had in Year 3!

This week, the children have been looking into descriptive writing, painting vivid pictures with words of a thundery coastal setting. They’ve also begun planning their own narratives, ready to take us on exciting adventures next week.

In Maths, we’ve been practicing our skills with adding and subtracting tens and ones. The children have been using number lines, base ten blocks, place value charts and mental strategies to solve problems.

Our Science lessons took a hands-on turn as we explored how muscles work, especially in our arms. The children loved investigating how muscles contract and relax when we move, and even tried out some fun arm movements to see it in action.

We’ve been reflecting on inspirational figures in RE, comparing two modern-day prophets: Mother Teresa and Eric Liddell. The children discussed how both showed courage, kindness, and faith in their lives, and shared thoughtful ideas about what it means to live with purpose.

Our school scarecrow is complete and Paddington is proudly standing in church! The children worked together to bring him to life, and he looks absolutely wonderful.

In Geography, we’ve been globe-trotting as we explored capital cities around the world. The children loved locating places on maps and learning fun facts about cities like London, Paris, and Madrid.

In PE, we’ve been practicing how to transition smoothly out of shapes and add those movements into our own sequences. The children showed great creativity, and their routines are really starting to come together.

We’re so proud of all the hard work and enthusiasm Year 3 have shown this week. Keep it up, you superstars!
