This week in English, our focus has been letter writing. We’ve learned how to structure our letters using paragraphs and have been using prepositions, expanded noun phrases, and descriptive language to make our writing really come alive

Our RE lesson gave us a chance to reflect. We thought about what our message to the world would be if we were called upon by God. The ideas shared were thoughtful, kind, and full of hope..

In Maths, we’ve started exploring the column method for addition and subtraction. It’s been exciting to see how this method helps us solve problems more clearly and confidently. We’ve been practising lining up our digits and carrying over numbers like true mathematicians!

In science, we’ve been learning about nutrition and the importance of all the different food groups. We discussed how each one helps our bodies stay strong and healthy.

We’ve also been learning how to use a compass in geography. It was fun discovering how the compass points help us find direction and how explorers use them to navigate the world.

In PE, we’ve been developing our netball skills, focusing on passing and defending. Everyone has shown great teamwork and determination on the court. It’s been wonderful to see how much progress we’ve made already!

Our art lesson took us outdoors this week, where we practised observational drawings in nature. Using our outdoor learning environment as inspiration, we focused on looking closely at details and capturing what we saw with care and creativity.

We’re so proud of all the effort and enthusiasm Year 3 has shown this week. Keep up the amazing work, everyone!
