We’ve had a fantastic week filled with learning, festive fun, and excitement as we welcomed a very special visitor – Snowball, our mischievous Elf on the Shelf!

In Collective Worship and RE, we reflected on the theme of togetherness, sharing times when we have felt a sense of belonging. We also recalled the Nativity story and created a beautiful craft for the nativity scene, reminding us of the importance of this story during the festive season.

Lots of us enjoyed a visit to the Liverpool Empire Theatre to watch the incredible Matilda musical. The talent on stage was truly inspiring, and we reflected on how, by using our school value of hope, we can achieve amazing things too.

On Tuesday, we put on a special performance to showcase the songs and musical talents we’ve been developing with Mr Mannings from Liverpool Cathedral. We hope our singing filled you with festive spirit and joy!

In English, we have been revisiting fronted adverbials, remembering why and how to incorporate them into our writing to make our sentences more descriptive and engaging. In Maths, our focus this week was on estimating, connecting our known rounding facts and exploring area. The children worked hard to apply these skills in different contexts.

We had a very mischievous guest arrive in our classroom this week – Snowball, our Elf on the Shelf! Snowball has already been up to lots of tricks, including using our pom-pom jar as a ball pit, abseiling through the classroom, and even making some of our classroom objects magically disappear!

We also took part in a very exciting Santa Dash! The children dashed around the school grounds solving clues to find the missing elves who had been hiding. Each clue brought us closer to discovering which elves were ready to help with the festivities and which cheeky elf hadn’t turned up this year.

As part of our outdoor learning session this week, we foraged for pinecones in the local park and created our own festive gonks, complete with felt hats and little white noses – and they turned out very cute!

A huge well done to our incredible band members who took part in their Rocksteady concert this week. The bravery to get up on stage and perform as amazingly as you did was brilliant – we are so proud of you! We can't wait to see our other bands next week.
