A Term to Remember!

Christmas is nearly here and the New Year will soon be upon us. As we come to the end of a wonderful term, we may be parting ways for now, but we already look forward to the exciting learning and memorable experiences we will share together in the year ahead.

What better way to finish the term than celebrating our fantastic Christmas Service performance. We are so proud of every single child — your confidence, teamwork, and joyful singing truly gave TSP the perfect Christmas send-off.

This term, English has focused on building strong writing skills. We explored expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbials, and writing dialogue, using Gorilla by Anthony Browne as inspiration. We also researched and organised information for non-chronological reports, showing great independence and enthusiasm.

In Maths, we developed confidence with column addition and subtraction, negative numbers, estimating, and exploring area. Creative activities such as area robots and area zoos helped bring our learning to life.

Our learning in RE encouraged deep reflection on symbols, light, togetherness, and faith. We explored Christingle, the Nativity, My Lighthouse, and Hanukkah, with thoughtful discussions and meaningful creative responses throughout the term.

In Science, we learned about the digestive system and how our bodies break down food to stay healthy.

History and Art took us back to Ancient Rome, where we learned about the Roman army and Queen Boudica, and created beautiful mosaics inspired by Roman designs and Remembrance artwork.

We also enjoyed a wide range of enrichment experiences, including swimming, theatre and cinema trips, Rocksteady concerts, outdoor learning, forest school activities, and inspiring visitors. Kindness Week, Anti-Bullying Week, and Remembrance Day gave us important opportunities to reflect and support others.

The festive season brought even more excitement, from Snowball the Elf’s antics to Santa Dash, Christmas dinners, performances, and a magical visit from Santa himself.

A huge thank you from all in Year 4 for the gifts and well wishes sent our way, we are truly grateful!

Our Virtual Classroom for the Spring term is attached, alongside a wealth of resources on our class Google Classroom, should you wish to complete any additional home learning over the festive break.

We are incredibly proud of how hard Year 4 have worked this term — not just in their learning, but in showing kindness, resilience, and teamwork every day. Thank you to Team TSP and our families for making this term so special. We wish you a joyful Christmas and look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year!
