What a fantastic week we’ve had in Year 5! The children have worked incredibly hard, but we’ve also enjoyed plenty of festive fun along the way.

In English, we completed our twisted fairytales and published them in our special Author Books, complete with creative illustrations. The children were so proud of their beautifully presented work – and rightly so!

In Maths, we continued our learning on fractions, focusing on mixed and improper fractions. We also used our understanding of equivalent fractions to compare and order them. Great perseverance and problem-solving from everyone!

In Science, we concluded our topic on materials by exploring reversible and irreversible changes. It was fascinating to see how much knowledge the children have gained.

In Spanish, we practised giving directions and naming places around the city. Through listening, reading, writing and speaking activities, the children demonstrated just how much they’ve learned this term.

In History, we delved deeper into the world of the Maya civilisation. We learned about Mayan Gods and Goddesses, cracked the Mayan number system, and discovered the significance of Chichen Itza. The children were captivated by this ancient culture!

On Tuesday, we all enjoyed the RockSteady performances. Our talented musicians played together with confidence and style – we were so proud of our superstars!

On Wednesday, we tucked into a fantastic Christmas dinner, complete with crackers and festive music. A huge thank you to our amazing kitchen team for such a delicious meal!

Finally, on Friday, we had an incredible time at the Christmas Extravaganza. Thank you to Team TSP for all their hard work in making this event so special. We are all feeling very Christmassy now!
