Year 5- Autumn 2- Week 7
Date: 17th Dec 2025 @ 2:15pm

What an exciting week we’ve had in Year 5! The festive spirit has been in full swing, and we’ve enjoyed lots of creative and hands-on learning.
On Monday, we had a fantastic DT Day where we designed and created our very own electronic doodlers! Using our science knowledge from Year 4, we built circuits to make our doodlers move and create amazing patterns. It was brilliant to see everyone applying their understanding of electricity in such a fun and practical way.
Once our doodlers were working, we got creative and decorated them to suit different users. Some were bright and colourful, others were Christmas themed – the designs were so imaginative! We loved seeing how everyone adapted their ideas to make their doodlers unique.
On Tuesday, we continued the festive fun by creating pop-up Christmas cards for our loved ones. The designs were incredibly imaginative and full of festive cheer! Later, we headed to the hall for some party games, showing off our super dance moves and singing plenty of Christmas songs together. It was such a joyful day!
Finally, on Wednesday, we had a lovely end to the term by watching the Year 4 performance in church. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the season and reflect on all the hard work and achievements of this term.
It has truly been a fantastic Autumn term, and the children have all worked so hard. A big thank you from the Year 5 team for all the cards, gifts, and well wishes. We hope you all have the best Christmas and look forward to seeing everyone back in the New Year!
