Year 6 - Spring 2 - Week 6
Date: 2nd Apr 2025 @ 2:41pm
The Easter break has arrived!
This week, we enjoyed taking part in several Easter activities…our final Easter celebrations in primary school! We participated in the annual Easter Egg Hunt and still had a visit from the Easter Bunny itself; on Friday, we attended the whole-school Easter Service at St. Peter’s Church where we were able to watch the Year 3 pupils perform the Easter story. We enjoyed joining in with several hymns and songs - which we have been practising each week during Sing and Praise - including ‘He Lives in You’ from The Lion King and ‘Lord of the Dance’.
Despite this being a short half-term, where we have mainly focused on preparations for SATs, there have still been many highlights:
- Our weekly swimming sessions;
- Trying new sports in PE lessons, such as kurling and tag rugby;
- Many new SPaG songs;
- A visit from some TSP alumni to discuss their experiences of secondary school;
- Seeing our buddies;
- World Book Day;
- The Soccer Sports Challenge;
- Lots of new games to help us revise, such as the very popular, ‘Trust No One’;
- Enjoying our newly built UKS2 gym;
- ‘Rock Steady’ music concerts and sports tournaments (football, swimming, athletics, kurling) for the majority of our pupils;
For home learning, additional tasks have been set on SATs Companion for over the Easter break and parents should have received a message on School Spider regarding useful links for further learning. Please be aware we are not suggesting all of these resources are to be utilised and that the children's mental health is always the priority. However, as some parents and children have asked for additional resources to support them over the Easter break, we are sharing with all in case any other children would like to further revise over the holiday period.
If we aren’t seeing you over the next two weeks, we hope you all have a lovely Easter break!
