Clubhouse - Autumn 1 - Week 4

And just like that, another week has flown by.

We have had another fun filled week in Club.

On Monday, we made the most of the sunshine and drew around our shadows outside. The children posed in a variety of yoga positions and had to hold still in order for their friends to draw around their shadow. The children donned their ‘black fact hats’ and discussed some great scientific facts about how shadows are formed and why.

The excitement of the circus filled the air on Tuesday, and even though some of us didn’t manage to venture over to the circus, we created our own circus in club. We watched a variety of circus performances on you tube and then carefully acted out the circus skills that we were able to. The children then put on a show for each other and everyone had a lovely time.

The children had a lot of fun towards the end of the week using the big blocks to build a domino run. They showed great resilience as they patiently placed the blocks in the right place and over the obstacles so that they could knock them down to see if their run worked.

Our technology corner has also been extremely popular with the introduction of the WII. The children have been asking if they could have a games console to play on and were very excited when we got a WII. The children showed great turn taking and wrote their names on the list and waited patiently for their turn. The children were all so excited and have requested some more games to play.

On Wednesday, the children asked for a film night as the weather was not very nice. They thoroughly enjoyed getting cosy with a hot chocolate, biscuit and film of their choice. Let’s hope the weather starts to improve soon.
