What a busy week we have had!

Continuing with our ‘Treasure Island’ theme, on Monday we explored different types of maps. We looked at a map of the local area, map of the UK and a treasure map of our outdoor area in Nursery. The children then created their own treasure maps, first using tea bags to stain the paper to make it look old. We then explored what ‘treasure is’ and the children brought in an egg box with their own treasures inside. The children enjoyed talking to their friends about what they had brought in and we loved that everyone’s treasures were different.

On Wednesday, the children headed over to Forest School. This week the children enjoyed learning all about trees. They looked at the different textures of bark that they could find and then looked closely with magnifying glasses. We then had a special delivery from National Trust Formby, who brought new logs for our fire circle. The children had so much fun helping the rangers to roll the logs from the jeep into the forest. Thank you so much to the National Trust, we are so grateful!

To celebrate ‘International Women’s Day’, the children learnt about the amazing things that some women have done in the past and we talked about how everyone is equal. We discussed how everyone should be treated the same no matter if you’re a boy or a girl.

On Friday we had snow! Nursery had so much fun in the snow with thier friends, there were smiles all around!

We hope you all have a fantastic weekend and see you all next week!
