Nursery - Spring 2 - Week 4

Nursery you are all amazing! What a fabulous week we have had.

On Wednesday the children boarded the pirate ship and went off to Treasure Island for pirate day. We couldn’t believe how amazing the children all looked in their costumes. The children were set on a challenge to find Captain Dalley’s missing golden coins in order to unlock the treasure chest. With great success, Nursery were able to claim the golden chocolate coins. The children then all had a go at walking the plank and scrubbing the decks outside. We made pirate hats, cutlasses, telescopes and golden coin biscuits. We finished by taking part in some pirate exercise to keep ourselves fit and strong. What an amazing day we had!

On Wednesday, Nursery carried out an exciting science experiment from ‘George’s Marvellous Experiments’ for ‘British Science Week’. We set up an experiment area at the front of the classroom and created an exploding volcano, using lemon juice, bicarbonate of soda, food colouring and washing up liquid. What a fantastic result!

On Thursday, Caroline came in to speak to Nursery about Jesus, and how we can use our imaginations think about what he looks like. The children came up with ideas about what Jesus may have worn and what he liked to do. This reminded us that we are all different and unique in our own way. 

On Friday, Nursery invited their Mums, Grandma’s and carers to their Mother’s Day assembly. The children had been working so hard to prepare a few songs to sing to the people they love. The children sang their hearts out. Nursery you were absolutely amazing! The children then presented a handmade card and a daffodil at the end. We are so proud of each and every one of you!

To end the week, we celebrated ‘Red Nose Day’. The children learnt about the importance of raising money for this amazing charity and took part in lots of different fun activities.
