What a busy week we have had in Nursery.

This week we enjoyed a new story called ‘Gigantosaurus’. We discussed some new vocabulary such as ‘gigantic’, ‘carnivore’ and ‘herbivore’ and the children recalled what happened at the beginning, middle and end of the story. The children have taken part in lots of different related activities throughout the week. You have all been super stars!

Each morning, the children were very excited to see if our baby dinosaurs had moved around the classroom in the night. Each day they were in a new place and we wondered when Stompy was going to come back and take them home. The children have done an amazing job at looking after the dinosaurs whilst they’ve been in Nursery.

On Thursday, the children learnt about different dinosaurs that were carnivores, herbivores and omnivores and we looked at their features. When we came back from lunch, we could not believe our eyes! Three different shaped footprints and lots of smelly poo was all over the floor in Nursery. The children the dissected the poo to see what food they had been eating. We could then say if they are herbivores, carnivores or omnivores. Brilliant work Nursery.

In Forest school this week we learnt all about taking care of the planet as part of Earth Day. The children used their helping hands to pick litter from our surroundings. What a great job you all did!

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend and see you all next week.
