Another week gone, where is this year going!

This week we have tackled our termly asessments head on, showing true determination and resilience. This assessments are nothing to be worried about but allow us, as staff, to continually check the childrens understanding to inform our teaching. The children should, as always, be very proud of their hardworking attitude and enthusiasm, we certainly are!

On Tuesday we were delighted to take part in the Lap of Hope with the rest of the school as part of the Commonwealth Games and Comic Relief celebrations. We started our morning creating pledges for a better world and a world we want to see, before heading out and running a lap of the school, both inside and outside, with both KS1 and KS2. Later that day, we were invited to a whole school assembly led by Year 5 and Year 6 Sports Ambassadors who taught us more about the upcoming Commonwealth Games. We were amazed at how many new events have been added this year. To round off our celebrations, and to celebrate World Music Day, we joined the whole school in singing 'Sing' by Gary Barlow, Military Wives, and The Commonwealth Band. It was a magical moment.

We ended our week on a high, with a trip to the TSP Summer Fair, a highlight of the year. Using our  tokens to take part, we browsed the various stalls winnig prizes along the way. We even had horses and sheep! The incredible activites and delicious food meant that we had a fantastic afternoon full of memories.
