We have certainly been busy this week in Year 2, full of laughter and excitement!
We streamed in Phonics again this week, reading given books whilst also developing our writing style. We focused on using the correct punctuation in sentences, including capital letters and full stops, as we all as using a wider range of vocabulary.
In Maths, we continued to develop our understanding of Place Value. We started the week by identifying the tens and ones in various representations. After, we used place value grids to partition larger numbers using on knowledge of tens and ones, breaking the numbers down into small numbers.
In PE we loved starting out new ‘Fundamentals’ topic which saw us developing our running skills. We focused on running in different ways; on our heels, with straight legs and with large steps, and identified which way felt not only ‘better’ but also allowed us to move more quickly without getting tired. We developed this further by identifying how to move our body when sprinting, using bent fast arms, as well as high knees. Later in the week, continued to focus on out ball skills focusing on different ways of stopping a ball in order to always remain in control.
We started our topic ‘Craft and Design: Map it Out’ in our Art lessons and using a variety of mediums, we created a map from our house to school. To add detail to our maps, we explored pressure and applying more pressure to add outlines and details.
Our week ended with a bang however, and we were delighted to take part in an ‘Outline Art’ workshop in the build-up to our visit from the circus. The team helped us create our own pop-up characters, adding vibrant colours to make it exciting just like the circus will be!

What a fantastic first week in Year 3! We are so proud of all your achievements this week.
This focused on our class routines, and rules with a special focus on kindness and its importance. To do this, we created posters for our friends, which showed what can do to be kind to each other. These posters were then discussed as a class and were pleasantly surprised that most of the posters have the same ideas! This linked nicely to our school value 'Nurture', agreeing that we should always 'Choose Kind' with not only people in our class but the wider community.
We absolutely loved our first gymnastics lesson which focused on travelling. In groups we created a routine, demonstrating the different ways we can move across the maps, ensuring that we were mirroring out partner. We discussed the importance of pointing our toes in certain positions, and, how we must travel in the same direction, so we don't crash!
In Maths, we put our Place Value skills to the test, connecting our learning back to Year 2, to play a tricky game of 'Snakes and Ladders'. Working in pairs, we had to solve questions, working out the answers, to ensure we moved up the board!

Wow what a fabulous week we have had! Reception, you have all been superstars. We are so proud of how well each and everyone of you have settled in this week.
We have had so much fun exploring our indoor and outdoor area and making lots of new friends. We read a lovely story called ‘The great big book of families’ and we talked about who lives in our house at home. The children then enjoyed drawing pictures of their home and family.
We had a very exciting surprise from a new friend who had visited our classroom. A little bear had left a note and a bag of clothes. He wanted us to pick a name for him and some clothes for his arrival next week. The children cannot wait to meet their new class bear, Topsy.
On Friday, the children had a fabulous afternoon playing outside with their Year 6 buddies. We can’t wait to have more fun with our Year 6 friends.

What an amazing start to our new school year! We have had the most wonderful few days getting to know Year 1 and our new classroom.
We have been getting settled into Year 1 by exploring our emotions, focusing on the film Inside Out! We have discussed what the emotions can look like, how they make us feel, and times when we have felt them. We have considered ways we can support each other as a class to deal with such emotions. We talked about how we go through all of the emotions throughout a week in school, with some of us having a lot of fear at the beginning of the school week, to now at the end of the week, feeling lots of joy! We understand that this is all part of starting a new class and we have lots to be excited about. We focused on our school values ‘nurture’ and ‘serve’ as the children discussed how they can spread kindness to support each other as a class team.
We have had a fantastic start to PE, focusing on fundamental skills, and practising our balancing and jumping skills in particular. We have also focused on how our bodies move differently when we change speed, we have had so much fun testing out different ways to travel around the track: like a penguin, a toy soldier, and Sonic the Hedgehog!
We have especially enjoyed our new outside area, as we have explored the different areas filled with lots to play with! We have spent time in the lovely sunshine, especially enjoying our musical area where we have performed lots of songs and dances.

What a brilliant start we have had to Year 6!
It really has been fantastic to see all the children return to school with such excitement and enthusiasm. They have all settled in so quickly, there has been plenty of laughter and the ‘Year 6’ team spirit is evident already!
The main focus of our learning this week has centred around our class novel, ‘Holes’ by Louis Sachar. The children have enjoyed the story so far and have shown a good understanding of the text as we have had breaks for discussions. We have even been able to make a start on understanding how to write down answers to more in-depth question using a ‘Point, Evidence, Explain’ strategy. As the book mentions ‘yellow-spotted lizards’ frequently, we used this as an opportunity at the end of the week to practise our sketching skills in an Art lesson, working on our fine motor skills before creating some excellent drawings of a lizard’s eye. Well done, Year 6!
Throughout the week, the children have also enjoyed watching several videos that demonstrate our school values. So far, we have watched a variety of clips that have reminded us to be kind to ourselves and others, and also to have perseverance when faced with a challenge as that’s when we experience the greater sense of achievement. Thursday’s videos were particularly interested as the children watched two experiments that demonstrated ‘herd mentality’ and the ‘bystander effect’. We discussed how these situations may arise in Year 6 and how it is important to have self-belief and trust our gut instincts.
On Thursday morning, the children found out that they would be visited by one of Formby High School’s Spanish teachers, Mrs Gibbons. She delivered a lesson to the children on pets, as per our Y6 Curriculum Overview. The children are very fortunate that – going forward this term - Mrs Gibbons will be leading their weekly Spanish lessons at this time.
To ease ourselves back into Maths lessons, we have taken part in a variety of games to revise our number facts and times tables. Chanting, ‘quick fire’ throwing and catching, speed challenges, Blooket quizzes and ‘shoot out’...the children have enjoyed a variety of fun ways to learn.
Perhaps the highlight of the children’s week came on Friday afternoon when they were able to meet their Reception buddies. No doubt the children will have told their parents all about it this evening, but it truly was lovely watching the children get to know each other and spending time together doing various activities. The Year 6 children are already very excited to see their new friends very soon…despite being worn out from all the running around after them! We know that many children are excited for our school residential to Robinwood in Wrexham in a couple of weeks. We hope you found Thursday’s parent meeting useful and have received all of the resources via School Spider. Please also ensure you have visited the Robinwood website and read all the information given, including their FAQ page, which should answer any further questions you may have.
Our first set of spellings have been shared on Google Classroom and the children will be tested next Thursday. Maths and SPaG homework will commence after the Robinwood residential.
In terms of Year 6 reading, the children will have daily opportunities to read, either independently, in a group or as a whole class. Those children who receive their ‘home reading books’ from school will also still be listened to individually every week by an adult. However, it is really important that the children are encouraged to read daily at home and with an adult if possible. If you are struggling with book choices, please refer to the recommendations listed on our ‘Learning at Home’ page, or let us know and we will be able to offer suggestions.

Wow, our first week in Year 4 has been full of smiles, joy and laughter. We have had so much fun finding out about our new class and catching up with our friends and teachers.
We started the week with a Year 4 favourite, as we took part in our first book tasting session. We were delighted to indulge in a range of book from our class library to decide which of our ‘courses’ we would like to read first in class. It got a little messy practising our handwriting, as we used shaving foam to practise forming different letters. We were sure to make our capital letters bigger and taller than their lower case forms.
It was important that we took the time this week to be kind to ourselves and reflect on how great we are. Using mirrors that we had designed full of all the things that make us so special we stopped to look at what we love about ourselves. The classroom later filled with anticipation when we found out that the teachers in the room were going to give us an opportunity to see who their favourite pupils were... little did we know that we would be staring back at our own reflections when we peeped inside the box.
In Maths, we reminded ourselves how we can use arrays to support our knowledge of multiplication. In order to complete our buildings in our ‘Array city’, we painted an array to show how many windows each building should have, based on a given multiplication question. We also popped on a hat and high visibility jacket as we entered the Year 4 construction site. On the building site, we sorted through building materials to match the multiplication question located on our buildings to the missing part of the house.
Feeling like the weather was a little too hot for lots of running about at break times, we decided to make our own Adventure Path in our shaded area. Each group created an activity to complete as we ventured down the path. Our activities included jumps on lily pads, spins around the spiral circles and forming shapes to copy the shadows mirrored on the floor.
Connecting with our school values of Nurture and Enjoy, we wanted to ensure that everyone in our class has a very special day on their birthday. We set out a plan to make each and every child in Year 4 a birthday card so we can send our birthday wishes their way when their special day comes.
It has been a real pleasure to welcome the children back this week and we look forward to making our learning journey an enjoyable and exciting year. What a fantastic first week spent with the brand-new Year 5 class team! The journey starts right here with plenty of learning, laughs and memory making to come. Bring it on!
Our school motto for this year is ‘Choose Wisely’ which encourages us to be the very best that we can be throughout this new school year. To explore this further, we used the book (and film), Wonder, as our stimulus. This led to a whole host of activities throughout the week, each of which were connected to this thought-provoking, heart-warming and inspiring story!
This has included delving into the mindset of different characters and considering how demonstrating our school values throughout different parts of the story really could have supported the main characters of Auggie, Via and Jack Will. Our discussions centred around Via and her challenge to remember to be kind to herself as well as to appreciate her opportunities; Auggie striving to show positivity and resilience to school life and Jack Will maintaining integrity and kindness to others.
Other activities have included some stunning Wonder based artwork, including a personalised piece bespoke to each child as well as a collaborative art activity where each child contributed a section to the overall piece. We also enjoyed lots of teambuilding activities within PE too. We really have achieved so much in our first week with plenty more learning to come.
Homework will begin for Year 5 children at the end of the following week. This will include a short Maths and English task. Spellings will also be set next Friday for the children to practise.
A further reminder that the PE days for Year 5 are on Thursday and Friday each week.

Welcome back to school after a lovely summer break, it is so lovely to welcome new children to Nursery as well as welcoming back children who were with us last year.
This week the children have been enjoying settling into Nursery and exploring all of the exciting activities available to them and getting to know new friends. We are very proud of how well they have settled and the fun they have had. Well done!

What a brilliant, sunny start we have had to Year 2!
We have loved welcoming all the children back to school this week and have had so much fun whilst making the most of the sunshine. Each afternoon, we have ventured onto the field to play a range of team games as well as making use of the incredibly fun, Trim Trail. Working together, we have created our own games as well as playing the classic game, 'Duck, Duck,Goose' a firm favourite. We hope the sunshine stays so we can make the most of the weather in the coming weeks.
We hit the ground running with Maths, and began exploring our topic, Place Value. We explored numbers in different variations, identifying and writing down their numerals and words. After, we focused on counting large groups by grouping objects by grouping them in groups of tens. This supported us later in the week, when we were able to identify tens and ones in given numbers, using practical resources to help.
In English, we completed whole class Phonics, recapping previously taught sounds whilst focusing on developing our reading speed. Using this knowledge, and using images and drawings to support, we developed our writing style, starting by writing about our summer holidays and ending the week by describing a range of images. Next week, the children will be grouped based on their Phonics ability, and will complete work associated with their Phonics books.
As well as enjoying the sunshine this week, we have also been completing a series of activities linked to the story 'Can you build another me?' Using this book, we have explored what makes us unique, identifying our own likes and dislikes, as well as what we can and can't do. After we all decided on one thing we want to get better at before the end of the year, and planned exactly what we can do to achieve this. The fun didn't stop there though, on Thursday we got crafty, creating our own versions of ourselves! It was certainly messy but also a LOT of fun! On Friday, we painted our models, and were delighted when we were able to take them home!

Well...the day has finally arrived! Today, we said our final goodbyes and finished our time here at Trinity St. Peter's.
Even in this final week, we have still been able to create some final memories of primary school. On Monday, we were able to have our final ‘Sports Day’ at Trinity St. Peter’s. We wanted to have a strong emphasis on our value of ‘Enjoy’ and not take it too seriously. We agreed that if we were losing, we would ‘lose in style’ – just as long as it didn’t affect anybody else in the race who may still be trying to win. There was a great atmosphere throughout and we all had a great time taking part in the different races. Perhaps the highlight was our parents’ three-legged race. Lots of laughter…and lots of competitive parents! We were very impressed with those children who managed to complete the lap with neither of their feet ever setting foot on the grass!
Throughout the week, we have had time to visit classes and teachers to get leavers’ shirts and books signed. On Tuesday afternoon, this provided the perfect opportunity to get the whole class out of the classroom (to visit their Reception buddies one last time) so that we could sneak Miss Browne back into school! The reactions of the children to seeing their Y3/4 teacher was fantastic! We concluded our short week with our Leavers' Service on Wednesday morning. This was perhaps more emotional than our leavers’ production with presentations, montages, speeches and one final opportunity for our pupils to show off their incredible voices as a class choir. There was not a dry eye in Holy Trinity Church!
There is not much left to write that has not already been said in class, at the production or in Church! Nevertheless, Year 6, you have been A-MAZ-ING. We have loved teaching you and watching you all grow as individuals and as a class. Bonds have been made for life and we can't wait to see you go onto achieve even more success and happiness in your secondary schools. We will miss you all.
Parents, we would like to thank you for the gifts and cards this week - never expected but always appreciated - and most of all, for your kind words. Your continued support has allowed the children to continue to thrive at Trinity St. Peter's in their final year.

Wow what an amazing year we have had in Nursery! This year has truely been filled with joy, laughter, and lots of fun!
As this school year draws to a close, please know how proud we all are of each and every one of the children in Nursery. We are immensely grateful to have been a part of their journey, and we are excited to see them continue to flourish throughout their time at Trintiy St Peter's. To the children who are moving to different schools, we wish you all the best in your new Reception class. You will all be amazing!
Thank you so much to you all for the incredible support you have given to us this year, this does not go unnoticed. We greatly appreciate all the lovely gifts, cards and messages we have received, we are incredibly greatful.

That time has come. The end of our Year 5 learning journey. What a time we have had and it has truly been a pleasure to have taught this class throughout this academic year! They have brought so much laughter, creativity, hard-work and kindness, with so many moments that will live long in the memory. Thank you, Year 5! While the summer holidays soon await, there are just a few more things to first say…
Firstly, thank you for being such excellent babysitters when Myla visited. She loved her time in the class and this is because you were all so nurturing and lovely to her. This led to lots of smiles on her part (and mine) and it was a really proud moment to have introduced you all.
A sincere and heartfelt thank you to all families for the extremely kind messages, cards and gifts received this week. They are never expected but really do mean an awful lot. Thank you so much.
All that is left to say now is have a fantastic summer break – make the most of it! I wish you all the success in the world in Year 6 where I have no doubt that you will continue to flourish and shine even brighter. I’ll be sure to check in regularly too with Year 5 only being next door!

And that's a wrap! What an incredible, busy and exciting year we have had together in Year 1. Your hard work and determination is a credit to you all, and for that, you should all be incredibly proud of all your acheivements. To the parents, we would like to say thank you for all your support over the year, it has been incredible and made such a difference to your little ones lives. From all of us here in Year 1, we would like to say thank you for your generours gifts, it is incredibly kind of you all. I am delighted to be taking you up to Year 2, and I cannot wait to see you florish. From all of us here in Year 1, have the most incredible summer holiday.

We cannot believe it is the end of summer term in Reception class and the end of our second year teaching most of the class.
We would like to say we have had a truly amazing year and are incredibly proud of all the children in Reception, each one of them have demonstrated our school values and are shining bright as they move into year 1.

What an incredible last, full week, of term we have had! Where has this year gone?
We finished off our final Maths topic, Time. We explored the physical clock identifying the differnet hands and numbers on a clock whilst learning about reading time to the o'clock and half past. We enjoyed this topic as Miss Jones allowed us all to draw on the tables, but shhhh don't tell Mr Essary!
This week we had an absolute treat, when we had a visit from Active Sefton, who taught us all about the importance of eating heatllhy as part of our DT project. After, we desgined our own packaging and created out own delicious smoothies. They were incredible! As well as this were were fortuante enough to watch the Y6 Leavers Production. We laughed, cried and cheered to celetebrate the fantastic acheivements of the wonderful Y6 children. We wish all the children the best of luck in high school.
This week, the children also enjoyed a visit from Rob from Formby Library who informed the children about this year's Summer Reading Challenge. Very exciting! There are two ways you can take part in the Summer Reading Challenge:
- You can join at Formby Library and take part in person. The librarian will give you a collector folder, stickers, and other special rewards, and help you find books to read.
- Or, take part online by signing up here. Set a reading goal and log your books on your profile. When you reach your goal, you will unlock a virtual badge and certificate.
Please note, the in-person and online challenges are separate. Medals and certificates are only available via the library, for those taking part in the in-person challenge. We hope the children enjoy completing the reading challenge and this will be celebrated when we return to school in September.

The final full week of Year 3 is now complete; we cannot believe how quickly the year has flown by. We are so thrilled with how much the children have flourished and we hope you enjoyed reading your child’s report last week which reflected this!
Here are some highlights from this week:
To start the week, the children enjoyed a visit from Rob from Formby Library who informed the children about this year's Summer Reading Challenge. The children were all very excited when they returned to class with many of them sharing how they hoped to complete the challenge. There are two ways you can take part in the Summer Reading Challenge:
- You can join at Formby Library and take part in person. The librarian will give you a collector folder, stickers, and other special rewards, and help you find books to read.
- Or, take part online by signing up here. Set a reading goal and log your books on your profile. When you reach your goal, you will unlock a virtual badge and certificate.

On Wednesday, the class enjoyed their trip to the British Music Experience in Liverpool. We started our day by taking a trip through music history starting with Vera Lynn during WW2 right through to Sam Ryder at Eurovision 2022. After lunch, we had the opportunity to tour the museum and visit the interactive music studio – which was greatly enjoyed by all!
In maths, the children created a range of 3D shapes using cotton buds and playdough. This was quite a challenge but the children showed great perseverance to build their models. They also constructed their own bar charts using interlocking cubes based on some in-class surveys.
In art, the children painted in the style of L.S. Lowry and created their own image of Trinity St Peter’s School, focussing on creating depth perception by changing size of buildings and people and by changing the depth of the colours they used. The children were delighted with their finished pieces of artwork.
A week of so many other highlights included the children having a glimpse into their futures as they had the chance to watch the Year 6 leaver’s performance which had everyone in fits of laughter. Well done Year 6!

Just a quick message to say a big thank you! The joy and sheer love for learning Year 4 have brought to the classroom has been admirable. The memories we have made together and the laughter we have had along the way will be cherished by us all. Thank you to all the fantastic parents/careers who have supported us all this year. Your kind words of support and encouragement really have not gone unmissed. We thank you so much for all your thoughtful gifts and well wishes for the new year. We look forward to watching you all continue to grow as you head into Year 5. Love and big hugs from all in Year 4.

We finish our final full week of term with smiles on our faces with excitement and nerves for the new adventures to come, as we begin our transition into Year 3.
This week in English, we went on so many different adventures! First, we met The Snow Queen and discussed whether she was evil or good. We talked about all the different elements, watching the trailer for the new film ‘Elementals’ and then created our very own element king or queen, using amazing adjectives to describe them. Then, we met Paddington during the week. We listened to the crazy adventures he had to go through in order to get from darkest Peru to England. We then created our very own adventure for Paddington to go through.
In Maths, we became detectives and went on a mystery hunt! Each day, we were faced with a new mystery – the missing gnome, the winning kite and even Matilda’s chokey mystery. We had to solve a variety of questions such as fractions, time, addition, subtraction and more to work out clues that had been left. Based on the clues we solved, we could cross off our suspect list to find the person who had committed these crimes! We showed really amazing partner work, ensuring that we worked together to solve our clues.
What a delight it was to watch the Year 6 Leavers Production this week! There certainly were lots of tears of joy and sadness, as we sent our best wishes for their next steps into High School and thanked them for the memories they have helped us to make at TSP.

You can join at Formby Library and take part in person. The librarian will give you a collector folder, stickers, and other special rewards, and help you find books to read. Or, take part online by signing up here. Set a reading goal and log your books on your profile. When you reach your goal, you will unlock a virtual badge and certificate.
Please note, the in-person and online challenges are separate. Medals and certificates are only available via the library, for those taking part in the in-person challenge. We hope the children enjoy completing the reading challenge and this will be celebrated when we return to school in September.
To end the week, we had a very fun Friday where we got to eat our very own ice-cream cones, decorated with toppings and sauce!

Can you believe this was our penultimate week and final ‘full week’ at Trinity St. Peter’s?!
On Monday, we visited Formby High to compete in their annual ‘Maths Maze’ against other local primary schools. Our children competed in groups, taking part in a carousel of problem-solving activities and earning various points for each challenge - depending on their success rate and level of support required. At the end of the morning, each group’s points were collated and…we won! Two of our groups placed in the Top 3 with one group winning overall. Congratulations, Year 6! Even in the final week, we have still experienced academic success!
With our leavers’ production ready to go, we performed several times throughout the week for the rest of the classes. On Thursday night, we performed for the parents and we all had a great time! The acting, singing and comedy timing was all excellent and the children certainly did themselves and us proud. It was wonderful to watch the parents recalling some of the children’s core memories from primary school and laughing along to all the Year 6’s ‘inside jokes’. A special ‘well done’ to all the parents for showing ‘no shame’ and dancing along at one point too!
We hope all the parents and children enjoyed receiving their SATs results and EOY reports. Between those and Thursday’s performance, they have certainly had a successful week! We couldn’t be more proud.
Don’t forget that we will hopefully be having our re-scheduled Sports Day on Monday afternoon. You should have also received details this week regarding Wednesday’s Leavers’ Service at Holy Trinity Church via School Spider.

We hope you enjoyed reading the children’s end of year reports last week!
I can’t quite believe we’re here but the final full school week of Year 5 is complete. Just two and a half more school days left of this academic year to go…we’ll be sure to make the most of them. For now, here are some highlights from this week.
Our Maths learning was focused on games, games and more games. We played some previous favourites, ‘Capture the Flag’ and the ‘Pirate Game’. Then we also had a try at a ‘Million Pound Drop’ game for those that remember this great gameshow. Great fun and we're sure that we’ll squeeze in a few more games before we finish too!
In English, the children proudly completed their buddy letters! Their letters were so thoughtfully written and contained a wealth of information that covered the role of a buddy; information about our amazing school and also some more information about themselves too. We hope that the families of our buddies enjoy reading them as much as we enjoyed writing them. We certainly enjoyed the opportunity to spend some time in Nursery this week with some of our buddies too.
It was also time for the much-anticipated Year 5 ‘Spelling Bee’, which was a competitive event. So many children had clearly put the effort into practising and, regardless of the final winners, each child should be incredibly proud of their resilience and effort here too.

A week of so many other highlights included the children having a glimpse into their futures as they had the chance to watch the Year 6 leaver’s performance before they soon take the step into their final year of primary school too!

What a fun week we have had in Nursery. We cannot believe the end is near!
This week in Forest school the children enjoyed sitting around the fire with their friends. The children all helped to melt marshmallows on the fire and then sandwich them between two biscuits to make s’mores. What a fabulous time we had!
On Wednesday we had our final ‘WOW’ service of this year. Our friends in Reception children hosted the service as it was their final ‘WOW’ service. We loved hearing about all of their lovely memories from this year. Thank you so much to Anne and Caroline for everything you have done for us this year.
Each afternoon, the children have enjoyed a different treat of their choice to enjoy with their friends. We have enjoyed going to the Nursery ice cream parlour, enjoyed a movie afternoon and danced to some of our favourite songs. We also enjoyed spending time with our ‘buddies’ in year 5 who came down to play with us. What fun we have had!
On Thursday we went to watch our friends in Year 6 perform on stage for their leaver’s performance. You were all amazing, well done to each and every one of you. What fabulous memories you have made throughout your time at TSP.
This week we have talked to the children about their transitions into their new class. We have talked to the children about who their new or existing teachers will be and what their classroom will look like for next year. We’ve discussed any worries, expectations and what we are looking forward to.

We finish our final full week of term with smiles on our faces and excitement for the new ventures to come, as we begin our transition into Year 5.
To celebrate our last full week together, we filled our time with our favourite activities and took a look back at our learning from the year. We enjoyed watching ‘How to draw’ videos, copying the drawing skills and getting top tips from some great illustrators. We were delighted at how our drawings came out and how much they resembled the characters and objects we had drawn. Using lots of creativity, we also completed our Minecraft project. Working as a class, we produced our own school design complete with different classrooms, art studios and even a school swimming pool.
In our Mindfulness lesson, we discovered that in the story, The Dot, a little girl named Vashti feels frustrated in art class because she thinks she can't draw. Her teacher encourages her to make a mark on the paper and this begins her journey into discovering that you can make beautiful art with just DOTS. The story inspired us to make our own artwork, starting with a simple dot. We used the growth mindset we have developed over the year and our increased confidence in knowing we are capable of anything to make some fantastic pieces of art. What imagination and creativity we showed!
What a delight it was to watch the Year 6 Leavers Production this week! There certainly were lots of tears of pride and sadness, as we sent our best wishes for their next steps into High School and thanked them for the memories they have helped us to make at TSP.

We cannot believe it is our last full week in Reception!
For RE we attended our very last WOW service, this is an opportunity for all of the children to be involved with the service and reflect on their time in Reception. We were very proud of each and everyone of the children who spoke confidently and sang beautifully. We would also like to thank Caroline and Anne for all of their hard work and support during the year.
On Monday we had a very special Forest school celebration. Mrs Bevin made a fire in our outside area and we used special extendable forks to make our very own ‘S’mores’. We had to carefully remember our forest school rules what a truly amazing experience and a special treat.
We have also been set some Superhero missions this week that we have chosen to accept! These challenges included writing our own story to read to the class at the end of the day, colouring our Superhero characters carefully and Superhero counting. Well done Reception!
We have also enjoyed carrying out our 5 activities before we finish for summer. The children have certainly enjoyed playing on the field, visiting the Ice-cream station, playing in Clubhouse, enjoying hide and seek and ending the week with a movie day whilst enjoying pom bears, what a treat!

It’s still ‘all singing, all dancing’ in Year 6 at the moment!
Production rehearsals have continued with the script now being finalised and all children happy with their roles. Parents should have received a message regarding clothes for the children to bring in; all other costumes will be organised / purchased by school. Mrs Meredith has reviewed our costume list and is very confused as to what the production is all about…but we think you will all enjoy it! Parents should have also received information regarding the arrangements for next Thursday, as well as their 3 tickets for the show.
This Thursday, we also saw the return of TSP’s Got Talent. In the afternoon, we had our Y6 talent show…and it was incredible! We laughed, we cried, we sat there open-mouthed at just how talented our peers are – it really was an amazing show! Our class representative was then chosen, who performed again on Friday morning for the whole-school show…and won again! Well done to that Year 6 superstar!
We also had our final Spanish lesson this week. Thank you to Mrs Gibbons from Formby High School for all her teaching and support over the past two terms.
Next week, we will be continuing to rehearse for our leavers’ performance, followed by ‘Beach Day’ on Friday. On Monday morning, we will also be walking to Formby High School to take part in their traditional ‘Maths Maze’ against other local primary schools…wish us luck!

The weeks are flying by in Nursery!
This week we have continued learning all about ‘Under the Sea’. Nursery have been learning about octopuses and we learnt new vocabulary such as ‘camouflage’ and ‘habitat’. The children had a visit from a new friend whilst we were outside for play. Ollie the Octopus had returned our sand and left Nursery a message. He apologised for taking our sand without asking but he was helping his turtle friends as they needed sand to lay their eggs. Nursery were very understanding and forgave Ollie for taking it. Ollie also asked Nursery if they could make a giant octopus for the classroom. We used our helping hands to make paper chains for the eight arms. Once we had finished, Ollie returned again with a tasty treat to say thank you for our help. We then had fun learning an octopus dance! Well done Nursery!
Outside, we have had so much fun making obstacle courses, making road networks with the blocks and using our imagination to make up stories using the pictures we had drawn. What fun we have had!
