Clubhouse - Spring 2 - Week 2

What a wonderful week we have had.

The fun just hasn’t stopped this week in Clubhouse! Inside, the children have taken part in a wide variety of crafts and activities. At the beginning of the week, the children helped to make some playdough to use in our hungry caterpillar playdough area. They used various materials and craft accessories to create some beautiful butterflies – very imaginative. On Wednesday, we celebrated St David’s day by doing some dot art pictures of daffodils, the children used their prior knowledge to discuss what St David’s day is and why it is celebrated and then selected the colours they needed to create the daffodils.

On Thursday, excitement filled the air as various book characters arrived for World Book Day. The children loved reading the books that they had bought with them and even made some of their own stories and book covers. The role play area was a buzz of activity as everyone got into character and acted out copious amounts of stories.

The fun didn’t stop there, competition was in the air and the older children enjoyed taking part in various competitions such as bottle flipping, pool, challenge cups and tiddlywinks.

It has been lovely to get outside again and make the most of the fresh air, it was definitely good to burn off some of that excess energy whilst scooting around the playground.

Don’t forget, if you are ever in Tesco Formby then please pop your blue tokens into the Trinity St Peter’s Clubhouse box. All of your ongoing support is greatly appreciated and we are hoping that the money will go towards improving our outdoor area.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend!

It has been lovely welcoming everyone back into Clubhouse this week, we hope you enjoyed your break!

We have had such a busy first week back! The children had a ‘flippin’ great time on Tuesday for pancake day. They enjoyed practising their flipping techniques in the playdough area by manipulating the dough to create their pancakes and then using the frying pans to see how high they could flip then. The children then enjoyed eating some pancakes at snack time. We discussed what toppings we could have on top – there were some very interesting ideas. Continuing with our pancake themed week, some children made some pancake faces using different shapes and ingredients to make the different features of their faces.

Now that the nights are lighter, it has been lovely that we have been able to go outside to burn off a bit of extra energy. The children had so much fun whizzing around the playground on the scooters, walking with the stilts and developing their ball skills. Let’s hope this sunny weather continues!

Our role play area has been extremely popular this week with the arrival of some new dressing up clothes and shoes. It’s been lovely to see the children getting into character as they put on the various outfits, it made everyone excited for world book day next week. On Thursday, we were lucky enough to have some children put on a show, there was dancing, singing and lots of giggles. What a performance!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.

IMG_3659.JPGWhat another very busy week we have had!

This week, we have continued with our space topic and been making lots of rockets, ready to blast off into space. The children were able to connect their learning to their maths lessons whilst doing this and named the various shapes that were needed in order to create the rocket. They followed the instructions well and helped each other when things got a little tricky – well done everyone!

Following on from our space theme, the children asked if they could create some space playdough using black food colouring and lots of glitter! Once the children had made the playdough, they thoroughly enjoyed squeezing, pinching and pulling it to create the different shapes and designs that they wanted.

Our craft table has been very busy this week, lots of children have got the writing bug! Some of the stories that were written were absolutely incredible and the children were so proud of the finished products.

It was lovely to see some of our older children sitting in the book corner with the younger children this week. The younger children thoroughly enjoyed having a book read to them by the older children and it was great to see how many ‘book worms’ we have in club.

The sun began to shine towards the end of the week and it made us all excited for the beginning of spring. Let’s hope that the sun keeps shining and we can begin to get outside more during club to burn off some of that extra energy that we all seem to have.

We hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

What a busy week we have had in club!

It has been lovely to welcome the new nursery children into club this week, they have settled really well and the older children have all been superstars in helping to show the new children around. They have really shown our ‘SHINE’ values.

Excitement has filled the air in Clubhouse this week as we started our Space topic. This term, we have decided to jump on our rockets and travel to space for a fun filled term of extra-terrestrial activities. This week, the children have used a variety of materials to create their own space masks. The children carefully followed the instructions and glued the items together and the finished results were amazing. The children then used their imaginations and masks to pretend that they were on the moon.

As always, the construction area has been very popular with the children this week. They have really enjoyed using the different construction materials to create their own unique designs. Following on from their topic in school, a few children even decided to make Stonehenge.

Unfortunately, the dark, rainy nights have still stopped us from going outside again this week but we are looking forward to when it brightens up and the nights get lighter. However, this hasn't stopped us from getting active in club. Some children showed off their gymnastic skills - we definitly have some contortionists in the making.

We hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Happy New Year! We hope you have all had a lovely, relaxing Christmas break.

It was a delight to welcome all of the children back into club this week and to see their lovely, smiley faces. The children excitedly shared with their friends and the staff what they had been up to over the Christmas period and all of the lovely gifts that they had received.

To celebrate the New Year, the children enjoyed decorating 2023 pictures and drawing pictures of all the fun activities that they took part in over the Christmas period.

Unfortunately, the weather stopped us from going outside this week, but this didn’t stop our fun. We played a few games of musical bumps and even took part in some ‘imove’ videos to burn off some extra energy. Let’s hope it dries up a bit by next week.

We have also been asking the children which topics they would like to cover this term in club. The children came up with some fantastic ideas and we can’t wait to get stuck in.

We are planning on making some paper mâché planets during space week, so if anyone has any newspapers that they do not need, we would be grateful if you could bring them into club.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and we are looking forwards to seeing you all next week.

And just like that, it is Christmas!

We can’t believe we are at the end of another term and Christmas is just around the corner. The children have all had a fun packed, festive, final week in Clubhouse. Towards the beginning of the week, the children excitedly continued to decorate and make their Christmas decorations ready to take home and decorated their houses with.

On Wednesday, the children enjoyed playing a group game of Christmas bingo, where instead of numbers, Christmas items were called out. The children all showed great sportsmanship and team work when helping their friends to find the correct items on their sheets.

On Thursday, the children asked for a movie night, complete with hot chocolate and marshmallows. It definitely helped to get everyone into the festive spirit ready for the Christmas holidays.

We would like to thank you all for your kind wishes, cards and gifts and we wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

See you all in 2023!

We can not believe how quickly this week has flown by and we are one step closer to Christmas!

The children have been joining in with lots of Christmas crafts this week, including tree decorations, Christmas cards and some Christmas jewellery. They carefully selected the beads that they wanted to use for their bracelets and using some fantastic fine motor skills, threading the beads onto their bracelets to create some beautiful finished designs.

Our small world area has been very popular this week, the children used their imaginations to create detailed and playful worlds using the cars and the tracks. They then used a range of tools to inspire their play and worked together to make some wonderful imaginative worlds to play in.

Some of the older children initiated playing board games in club this week, they helped the younger children to identify colours and the count the spaces as they moved around the board. The children also showed some fantastic mathematic skills as they added the numbers together on the dice. Well done everyone!

We can not believe that the last week before Christmas is nearly here, just a polite reminder that Clubhouse is not open on Friday 16th December as the children finish at 1 pm.

We hope you all have a lovely, festive weekend!

And just like that, another week has disappeared and we are one step closer to Christmas!

Clubhouse has been all things festive this week. It was lovely to see the smiles on the children’s faces as they got into the Christmas spirit and decorated club on Wednesday. The Christmas music filled the air and so did the giggles and laughter.

The children have also been very crafty this week with lots of Christmas cards and Christmas crafts being made – don’t we all just love the glitter and sparkles!

Some children decided to make a very impressive train track this week and enjoyed taking it in turns to build different size trains. They then pushed the trains around the track to see if they would make it without breaking.

We have tried to get outside as much as possible this week, although the weather hasn’t always permitted us to do so. Instead, on some evenings, the children have enjoyed a cosy Christmas film and biscuit. We are hoping that we might be able to get into the hall next week to play some group games.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Clubhouse - Autumn 2 - Week 4

We have had another fantastic week in Clubhouse!

To celebrate the start of the World Cup, we thought it was only fitting to decorate club for the occasion. Using some prior knowledge and a bit of help from staff (mainly the internet), the children carefully coloured in the flags for the different teams taking part in the World Cup for us then to hang around club. After a few requests from the older children, we have also been watching the 4pm matches in club which has been a nice change and made the dark nights a little easier to cope with.

The children have also been supporting Queenscourt and Woodlands Hospices this week by making and decorating Christmas decorations for the Christmas Tree Bonanza on Saturday 3rd December at Holy Trinity Church. To do this, the children decided to make some salt dough star decorations which they carefully cut out, baked and then decorated. They looked fantastic when they were done and we can’t wait to see the finished products on the Christmas trees.

Our table top games have also been very popular this week; Jenga, the game of life and even boggle have all been a hit. The children showed great English knowledge when trying to create words using the dice that had been rolled in boggle – there were definitely some ‘alien words’ thrown in.

We have had lots of activity in our construction area this week, the children have been working in teams to make the best models using different construction equipment. It was lovely to see children of all ages working together and helping each other.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.

IMG_2709.JPGAnd just like that, another week is over!

As it is Kindness week in TSP, we have been doing all things ‘kind’ in clubhouse this week. Lots of children helped with snack, the older children set up games for the younger children to play and we even designed some kindness posters to stick around club and cheer people up. It definitely made us all smile lots and the children were really great at spreading the kindness.

Our table top activities have been a big hit this week, especially on the rainy nights. The children learnt to play new card games and really enjoyed playing dominoes, even some of our nursery children had fun counting the dots and matching the dominoes correctly.

When it wasn’t raining, we made the most of our outdoor area. Some children decided to make a fruit stall and go around selling pieces of play fruit to their friends. They then used their great imaginations to concoct some delicious recipes in our outdoor kitchen.

Our construction area has been a hive of acitivty again this week with lots of children chosing to use the stickle bricks to design their own space ships. Watch out NASA!

To celebrate Children in Need on Friday, the children played ‘pin the mask on Pudsey’, made some Pudsey masks and also thoroughly enjoyed decorating their own Pudsey bears. We had some fantastic designs!

Lastly, a massive thank you to one of the parents for the very kind donation of a new play kitchen. The children have absolutely loved playing with it.

As always, we hope you all have a lovely weekend. See you next week.

IMG_2608(1).JPGWe can’t believe that we are at the end of another week, and what a busy week we have had!

We have had a variety of craft activities in our craft area this week. In honour of Remembrance Day on Friday, the children created some poppy wreaths. The children were able to chose the correct colour paints for the poppies and used cotton buds instead of paint brushes to paint the wreaths creating different patterns and textures. Lots of children also enjoyed making some winter owls, selecting a variety of materials and using some fantastic cutting skills to cut out and assemble their owls.

On Thursday we had a very special treat! A great big thank you to team TSP for donating waffles to clubhouse for us all to enjoy. The children were very excited about having them as a treat and demolished them within seconds. They then had lots of energy for the rest of the evening so we decided to have a bit of a dance and sing along to some of their favourite songs which they all thoroughly enjoyed.

We definitely have some teachers in the making, the children have spent lots of time playing ‘teachers’ this week. The children relished in becoming the teachers and delivering their best writing and maths lessons to the other children - we even had one child who formed a band!

Thankfully, we have been able to get outside this week which the children all love! Please make sure that your children are bringing their coats to school as it is starting to become a bit cooler in the evenings.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.

IMG_2490(1).JPGWhat a lovely first week back we have had!

It was lovely to welcome the children back on Monday and hear all about the fun that they had over the half term holidays.

On Monday, we had some children who were very excited about Halloween, so we decided to make some skeleton crafts using cotton buds. First, the children used their prior knowledge to discuss the bones that might be in a skeleton and carefully cut down the cotton buds to the correct size. The children then stuck them onto black card to create the skeleton effect. The persistence paid off and the final products looked fantastic, the children couldn’t wait to take them home to decorate their houses.

Excitement filled the air this week in clubhouse as the children chatted about the filming, they had been doing in their classes for the kindness video. The children all had the buzz and asked to watch the previous year’s kindness videos for inspiration. They enjoyed watching and coming up with ideas that they could use in the video this year. We can’t wait for you all to see it.

Although the nights have been getting much darker, the children have still been able to spend some time outside before having their snack. They have enjoyed whizzing around on the scooters and setting up courses to race around. Hopefully the weather stays dry in the coming weeks and we can continue to do this.

We hope you all have a fantastic weekend and enjoy bonfire night - stay safe everyone.

And just like that, half term is here!

We have all had a lovely, very tiring first half term and I am sure everyone is ready for a well-deserved rest.

On Monday, the children created a hair salon in club where everyone was invited to get their hair styled. The children waited patiently and with much anticipation to see which hairstyle they were going to receive. We definitely have some budding hairdressers on our hands.

On Thursday, we decided to have our own disco in club for the younger children and the children who did not want to attend the school disco. The children loved requesting their own songs, showing off their dance moves and, in the process, burnt off lots of energy dancing around club.

The role play area has been very popular, especially with the younger children. They have really enjoyed dressing up, taking on the roles of different characters and using their fantastic imaginations within their play.

The nights are starting to get darker, but that isn’t stopping us from getting outside to play some group games and whizz around the playground on the scooters. Let’s hope the nights stay this mild after the half term.

We hope you all have a fantastic week off, and we can’t wait to see you all back, nice and refreshed.

We have had another busy week here in club!

After some requests from the children, we have been doing all things ‘autumn’ this week. The children have taken part in some nature hunts, where they explored their local surroundings and discovered lots of autumnal objects. The children then used their senses to examine all of their findings and then decided to make a nature collage with them. Following on from this, the children asked to make some autumn playdough where they worked together to collect the correct ingredients and weigh them out in order to make the perfect playdough which they thoroughly enjoyed playing with.

Outside, we have been playing some group games including duck, duck, goose, What’s the time, Mr Wolf and capture the flag. The children were great at taking turns and working together in teams which was lovely to see and a great time was had by all.

As always, the role play corner and dressing up has been very popular. It is amazing to see what great imaginations the children have and to see them engrossed in imaginative play.

We hope you have a lovely weekend, see you all next week for out final week before half term!

Another week has flown by and we are one step closer to half term.

The weather has taken a bit of a turn for the worst this week meaning that the children haven’t been able to spend as much time as they would have liked outside. However, they have enjoyed lots of other activities instead. Some children decided to create a talent show to brighten up a rainy day. We had singing, dancing and even some comedy acts thrown in. The children loved it and their smiley faces and laughter definitely brightened a gloomy evening.

In our craft area, the children have been getting creative and decided to make an assortment of pompom animals using lots of different craft materials. At times, it was very fiddly but the children persevered and they were very happy with their finished pieces.

The children are all feeling very autumnal and we have had some requests to make some autumn playdough which they are very excited to make next week. As a group, the children used the iPad to research the ingredients that we would need to make playdough and then helped to add it onto the shopping order ready for making on Monday.

We have been very lucky this week, and have had some new toys donated to club. The children in club are extremely grateful and have thoroughly enjoyed playing with them. We always appreciate any donations of pre-loved toys.

We hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

We’ve all had another fun week in Clubhouse!

The lovely weather at the beginning of the week meant that we were able to enjoy lots of outdoor play before the nights start drawing in. The children thoroughly enjoyed getting creative with our dancing ribbons and explored different movements and ways to create a variety of shapes and patterns. The scooters have also been a popular choice with the children whizzing around the playground trying to burn off some of that extra energy.

Inside, the children have showed some fantastic fine motor skills and had lots of patience whilst making hamma beads. It was lovely to see the children working together to select the right colours to make patterns which ended with some beautiful finished pieces.

The playing cards have also been a big hit with some of the older children taking the lead and leading games such as snap and go fish where the children had great turn taking and communication skills. It was lovely to see some of our new starters joining in too.

Just a polite reminder to ask if parents can make sure that their children’s jumpers and coats are clearly labelled as we have so many children in club and would hate for anything to go missing.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and let’s hope that the weather improves!

What a fantastic week of fun that we have had in Clubhouse.

The role play area has been buzzing with excitement this week and it has been lovely to see children of all ages getting involved in imaginative play and enjoying every moment of it. Our hairdresser’s area has also given the children a chance to brush up on their hairdressing skills which they then continued to practice on each other and some of the adults.

In the craft area, after watching the Queens funeral at the weekend, some children decided that they wanted to remember the queen by colouring in pictures and making some lovely stories about her which were very moving and lovely to read.

Our table top games have been popular again this week, in particular, the robot game. The children raced against the clock to construct a robot before the timer was up and the pieces fell to the floor. The children have also been playing ‘Dobble’ where they had to use great observation skills to race against their friends to match identical symbols on the cards.

Although the end of the week took a turn for the worse with the weather, the children have still enjoyed blowing off some steam and playing games outside. We can tell that some of us have been practicing our tennis skills over the summer!

As always, we hope you all have a great weekend!

We have had another quick week in Clubhouse this week.

The children have all settled really well back into the routines of club which has been lovely to see.

As always, the craft area has been extremely popular. The children have put their fine motor skills to good use using the loom bands to create an abundance of designs and creations. Some children have made bracelets, whilst some children have carefully attached the loom bands together to create some very imaginative animals.

It has been lovely to get outside this week. On Tuesday, the children asked if they could clean the scooters which had become a bit dusty over the summer. They had great joy in getting the hose pipe out and assembling it in order to clean all of the equipment. The children showed great team work and persistence.

Our new construction area has been a big hit with the children this week. They have been busy putting together, taking apart, fixing, stacking and knocking down their different creations.

Next week we are hoping to look at the topic ‘all about us’ where the children will create portraits of themselves to stick around clubhouse – we can’t wait to show you the finished results.

We hope you all have a nice weekend, see you on Tuesday.

It has been so nice welcoming everyone back into Clubhouse this week and especially seeing some new smiley faces. We can not believe how much everyone has grown over the summer and it has been a pleasure having everyone back in club and hearing about the lovely things that everyone has been up to over the summer holidays.

Our craft area has been very popular this week and the children’s fine motor skills have been put to the test designing and creating their own jewellery. The children were so proud of all of their finished products and we have even had a request to buy some more beads because they are enjoying it so much.

The sun finally started to make an appearance towards the end of the week and the children thoroughly enjoyed going outside to play in the new playground. They have loved having the extra space to run around and play.

Following on from the school topic ‘Encanto’, the children have been colouring and decorating pictures to display in our gallery and had fun dressing up in the role play area and acting out the story of Encanto.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

And just like that, another week is over!

As always, Clubhouse has been a hive of fun and laughter this week, we are amazed that the children still have so much energy!

On Wednesday, some children wanted to put on a show for the rest of Clubhouse. As a result of this, we have decided to hold a ‘Clubhouse has got talent’ next Wednesday in club. Everyone is so excited about watching and performing and we can’t wait to see the children’s many talents.

Our craft area has been extremely popular again this week and the children have loved displaying their masterpieces in our gallery in club – think we need to find a bigger wall to display them all on!

The children have loved going onto the field again this week to burn off some of that excess energy. They enjoyed getting some extra practice in for sports day at the beginning of the week and held their own sports day on Thursday. The team spirit and it was great to see them cheering each other on and working as part of a team.

Just a reminder that Clubhouse is not available on Friday 15th July as school closes at 1pm.

Where has this year gone? We can’t believe another week has flown by and we only have 2 weeks left!

We have had another busy week in clubhouse. Continuing with our beach theme, the children enjoyed making some colourful jellyfish in the craft area. They carefully selected different materials and creatively manipulated them to make the desired effects.

The junk modelling area has made a reappearance and some children worked together to make a new school mascot called ‘Trinity’. It took a lot of resilience and trial and error to get the finished design right but it looked amazing once it was complete.

As the weather was a bit miserable on Wednesday evening, some children decided to create their own band. After lots of practice, they proudly put on a performance for the rest of club which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

As always, the children have loved playing outside. As Wimbledon has started this week, we decided to get the tennis rackets out. It was lovely to see the older children helping and showing the younger children how to play.

Just a quick reminder that there will be no after school club on Friday 15th July as the school finishes at 1pm.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, not long left until the summer!

In the construction area, the ‘connecta straws’ have been extremely popular, the children carefully created a variety of models. The children worked really well as part of a team and helped each other to create some fantastic designs.

As it has been so hot this week, the children have enjoyed a variety of activities in the shade outside and even had a few ice lollies to try and cool us off. Please can you remember to pack sun cream in the children’s bags so that we can top it up before going outside.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

!Summer 2 W2.JPG

Yet again, we have had a fantastic week in Clubhouse which hasn’t been short of fun filled activities.

Continuing with our animal topic, the children have thoroughly enjoyed designing homes for a variety of different animals in our small world area. They used a variety of craft and construction resources to design a habitat suitable for each individual animal. We discussed the different environments and habitats that animals live in and the children’s knowledge was amazing!

Following on from this, some children wanted to design their own animal masks in the craft area, the children carefully selected the correct colours to create their animals and then enjoyed using the masks in some role play activities.

Another popular activity this week was bracelet making using the loom bands, although it was quite tricky at first, with lots of perseverance and a few demonstrations, the children were able to design some fantastic bracelets, rings and keyrings.

On the field, the children wanted to design a bug hotel for all of the animals and insects in our local environment. Firstly, they went on the hunt for suitable, natural materials to use and then working together as a team they assembled the bug hotel.

As the nights are getting warmer, please can you ensure the children have sun cream in their bags that they can reapply in Clubhouse before going outside.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

We have had a lovely first week back in school!

It was lovely to welcome everyone back into Clubhouse this week and hear about all of the exciting things that they got up to over the half term. We can’t believe we are in the final half term, if the weeks are as quick as this one, then summer will be here before we know it!

After lots of requests form the children, we have spent most of our evenings playing on the field. The children really enjoy having so much space to run around and play in and the sunny evenings have definitely made this more enjoyable for everyone.

Inside, the children have enjoyed playing in the role play area, small world area and especially the construction area. As always, the children have showed off their amazing creative skills and constructed some spectacular models by working together – team work makes the dream work.

The children have been playing a variety of table top games this week which they have been selecting and playing, a few favourites have been battleships, guess who and the headband game. They all got our minds working and helped to build on our resilience.

As the weather was not so nice on Thursday, the children suggested having a film night. The children got cosy with a cup of hot chocolate and chose to watch Paddington Bear 2. They all loved it and have asked if we can have film nights more often!

We can’t thank all of the children enough for all of their help in club, every night the children are extremely eager to help with the preparation and setting up of snack and with any other jobs that there are to do.

Just a quick reminder to make sure that the children’s names are on all of their belongings as we don’t want anything getting lost in club as there are so many children that now attend.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
